Kaliyev apparently wants out of LA, so we can still make right passing him up! Has played the past 3 seasons, but that’s not saying Sullivan woulda played him tho.
- wsldck

Kaliyev isnt looking like he will fulfill his potential. I would take a shot on him if they want Poulin and a mid round pick, but I think he looks like a poor mans Mike Hoffman. Maybe he can provide something in a PP2 role and in the bottom 6, but that just leaves him disgruntled as he is with LA.

My hope for Graves is a bounce back season. Paul Martin's first season as a Pen did not go smoothly for him. He went on to be really good. I am hoping this is what happens with Graves. Hoping.....

I appreciate the positive outlook but Paul Martin was expected to be a 1LD and performed like a really good 2LD. Graves was expected to be a 2LD and he performed like an 8LD.

I think he will bounce back. I don't know if he will be the really good 2LD we were hoping for but he will be more servicable. I was really excited to get him last offseason, he should spend the entire offseason watching tape on Letang and hopefully spending some time on the ice with him.

Paul Martin was also very good before coming to Pittsburgh. Graves on the other hand pretty much performed exactly as he did in NJ and COL.

Yager is going to need to earn a spot on the 3rd line if he is going to stay with the big team I think. If he cant go to the AHL, is he better off getting 8-10 minutes a night in the NHL or playing a ton in the WHL?
- MacPatty

Definitely 8-10 minutes a night in the NHL. Also could move up the lineup when injuries inevitably hit.

I think the issue is what's best for Yager at the start of next season probably isn't NHL or WHL. He needs better competition, but he might not be physically ready to take on full grown men. College hockey would be better than playing against 16 year olds

At the very least they should let him sink or swim for 9 games before sending him back.

Honest question, what happens if he just doesn’t report back to the WHL? Could he play in Europe for a year then join NHL?

He can play anywhere but the AHL/ECHL.

This site has some horrible takes sometimes but this is just a list of their top 10 Pens prospects. Poulin in there at 8th...I have hard time even calling him a prospect at this point haha

EDIT: I really, really hope Cruz Lucius gets a regular NHL shift with the Pens. What a phenomenal name hahaha

I see the name and can only think of Pimp Lucious from R Kelly’s smash hit urban opera Trapped in the Closet.

You’ll be openly rooting for him to fail within the year I’m sure

Unless they trade him to NYI/NYR this is the only guarantee for Yager.

He will be a good nhl player in a year or two and I won’t hear otherwise.

How many weeks until ND proves they’re massively overrated once again?
