take the best player available or trade down if that person is a LW. would rather get the best player at that spot and by the time they pan out if it's not a need trade them for their equivalent. don't need another mcilrath by drafting for current need.

Just the D cupboard is very meh. I get what you’re saying, but late in the rd 1 you can justify need over BPA, imo

I say it all the time, the most important line to winning a Stanley Cup is the 3rd line. In today's hockey, if you're not getting secondary and tertiary scoring, you're not winning the cup.

I hear Hayes is on the block, fits the 3rd line center need.

I will say this, for all the acclaim that Barkov got in the series against us... Barkov only had 1g 3a. Since game 5 against Boston until game 6 vs the Rangers, Barkov only had points in 2 games. Thats 6 games, with a guy playing 21+ min a game, that he had a donut. I dont call that your superstar stepping up to produce. Tkachuk, 1g 4a against us, producing in only 3 games of the 6 against us. Neither one of Florida's stars were killing us. So when I look at, for example, Panarin's stats of 1g 3a its on par with what Florida's stars were averaging in the series. The Florida series was all about secondary and tertiary scoring, the proof of that was in the 2 games we won when Goodrow scored in both games and Wennberg scored the OT winner.

It comes down to which team won the series as to who will be criticized. If the Rangers win the series and then the Cup, will Mika get all the hate he is getting now, no of course not but when your first line center doesnt produce and plays really soft and you lose, guess where the blame will lie?

You can blow all the smoke you want about being a good penalty killer about being defensive, blah, blah, blah. The guy is a RW killer. Good players find a new gear in the playoffs. Mika hasnt found that gear yet. Hopefully he will because we are stuck with him for another 6 years

The Rangers need their top players to produce in the Playoffs, its that simple. Your first line cant just wilt under pressure. They had some chances and just couldnt bury it!!

Wennberg, Wheeler, Roslovic and Pitlick are gone.

Cant see KK getting moved because it will only further deplete RW. Unless another RW is coming back, cant see it.

Do they go and sign another free agent or promote from within. Will be interesting to see how much faith Drury has in Mika.

- Brukie

I think via trade/FA they address top line RW and defense. Bottom 6 probably addressed internally. Edstrom sykora, othmann berard

Hearing that former #NYR and SJ coach David Quinn will be joining Mike Sullivan's staff in Pittsburgh.

Reunited with Erik Karlsson, who won a Norris Trophy playing for Quinn in 2022-23

Of course, he who looses gets all the flame. Had we won, Im sure there would be talk about Barkov only scoring in 2 of the 6-7 games and whether or not he has another gear beyond his defensive capabilities.

Unfortunately, our options for a fix are limited.

I just dont know what our biggest problem is that can be filled from outside the organization. Our C, RW and defensive depth is non existent.

It’s not his game. McDavid is running around hitting everyone. Hughes isn’t doing that. Zib would get hurt if he did that and then we’d be (frank)ed

Not EVERY hockey player needs to be physical to be effective. Barkov doesn’t run around hitting everyone he is just a very sound player in every aspect of the game

Training camp will be interesting to see if any kids play RW, othmann Berard Sykora etc. you’d think one of them will get every opportunity to win a job on RW if they can handle it

If there's ever a prospect who plays C/RW/ and LW I want that guy on our team. Feel like there was a timeperiod where we had nothing but centers. No wings. And that was frustrating. Then there was a time where we had no centers. Now we have no RWs?

Depends on your point of view, Mika, Trocheck, Chytil, Goodrow, Rempe and Edstrom

Those I would say are our top centers in the organization.
