Interesting. From LL's mailbag article on The Athletic.
They’ll trade the 11th pick if it helps them acquire help for the NHL roster. The challenge, though, is that teams will prefer a high-end prospect such as Kulich or Savoie because it is easier to project what those two can become in five years

I was told the value of Prospects drops precipitously once drafted and pails in comparison to daft chips in the current draft.

- IonSabres

It is Lance, saying what the Sabres want him to say. He also only mentions 2 of the 4 prospects. Make of that what you want.

So what is Savoie worth straight up to another team ?, Rosen, Ostlund. Are people giving up top 16 picks this year for them. I might agree if the Sabres had used them better.
- Buff36

It's funny messaging. Savoie and Kulich are untradeable. 11, Rosen, and Ostlund aren't drawing much interest. Lance even lists Rosen in the B tier group. Sounds like we're being set up for no big moves.

Think we all know that Savoie and Kulich are probably the prizes people are after. But prospects lose there shine after a bit IMO, no way would we get back the same picks for a few at this point IMO

Kulich is clearly a big exception. Was interesting to hear Lance describe him as tier higher than everyone else. I wasn't expecting that from him.

Tij, Sennecke, Helenius. Wouldn't be mad at any of the 3. Add Eiserman in there

Well, I have liked him for awhile. He still a work in progress on the D side of the puck. But he has one of the best Wrist shots I have ever seen and he's Deadly from the Right Face off circle on the PP

Because Sennecke has every tool Buffalo is missing. All the other players at 11th pick have flaws.

Sennecke at 6'3 drives to the net, goes to the corners and has playmaking skills along with that is skating his far far better than MBN. Also Sennecke's hockey IQ is off the chart.

MBN doesn't have the skill with the puck that Sennecke has and his skating is lacking.

Sennecke will go top 10 maybe even top 5.

You know how skeptical I am of the idea that these are all great prospects and all slow to develop. It's time for someone to do something.

I agree, I might like a prospect. But we still don't know what we have almost 2 to 3 years later with these kids. If they can be used to get players that can help know! Do it. Sabres have too many Prospects with as many long-term contracts they have signed or will be signed shortly.

And the playoffs. Unless you think the playoffs was a fluke.

He was the highest scoring draft prospect in the OHL playoffs.

I assure you that Kulich is worth way more than 2024 28th OA. Same with Savoie at 9 and there's plenty more.

If these guys don't stall or decline, their value usually rises above their pick, especially if they're outside the top 5.

- TheSabresTaco

What is worth more to the most teams: Savoie or the 11th overall?

Sennecke has no flaws?

I don't care for Nygaard though, would rather trade the pick if we go with those middle of the first players.

He has played 2 years in the OHL and like many players their draft eligible year is their best year.

Go look at Berkley Catton and especially Tij Iginla its no different.

Tij had 18 points in his first year and now this his second year shot up.

And that is why I am suspect of certain players. Other than Catton I haven't talked about either of those other players until recently

Cayden Lindstrom hasn't even played a full season in the WHL and had 46 points last season. He is a top 5 draft prospect.

Drafting is more than just points in 1 season.
