They're all currently free agents. They're not entitled to any pay moving forward. - Tomahawk
Yes. The discussion was had they not been FA? could you just suspend them without pay? What if they’re subsequently found not guilty or charges dropped? Back pay? As I mentioned before. It doesn’t matter if they’re completely exonerated they’ll be blacklisted by the league for the mere allegation. The teams obviously don’t have to do anything because they’re fa. |

<< to me they should be allowed to play until proven guilty. >>
Even if allowed, how well would any of them play?
Especially for a goalie, his head must be 100% in the game. - FlyersFanInPhoenix
Remember that Hart had a weird medical issue not long before the news came out?

They are not free agents yet are they? Some are RFA that will need to be qualified or let go. |

Pretty sure Rickey and Julian were on the team before their release. But then those boys were up to no good again and drew up a plan to rob a giant gum ball machine that took looneys and tooneys. |

Flyers May Not Be Prepared for Upcoming CapFriendly Purchase
It's only speculation but it wouldn't surprise me. - Flyers_01
Shame on any team that doesn’t track this stuff with their own software. One would think that each NHL team has access through the NHL as to every contract reported to the league. |

Latest mock draft from the whole Athletic staff:
https://www.nytimes.com/a...ource=user_shared_article
If the draft falls this way Flyers gotta make a trade for #11. Farabee & Laughton or TK and a 2nd for #11. I’d be willing to add more to get it done as you know other teams will be looking to acquire that pick to take D!ckinson.
If they could come away from this draft with D!ckinson and Catton, it’s a huge step forward in the rebuild. That would potentially solve their 1D and 2C issues. |

Scary to think about, not just for Flyers. Billion dollar sports teams that rely on an amateur project website to to get incredibly important information about their cap or other's.
Great purchase for Ted Leonsis knowing other teams were that far in the stone age.
With enough investment, every team should have an internal system in place WITHIN a week. Seems like a small project for so many companies not to have it already.

Absolutely the NHL has to have a league wide data source, even if it's with a 3rd party like it's stats. Then just use the API to retrieve the data and create an easy to use GUI. I feel like they could have an intern do this pretty simply.
Otherwise, Bill I'm available! Tell Jonesy and Hilferty I will get them up and running for a salary and season tickets.

Sounds like a good premise for (of?) a movie. “The Longest Yard” on ice. |

I see it all of the time in my job. Multi-million dollar companies that refuse to implement current business practices. Some of the systems these companies use are literally from the 80's.

The Flyers should hire Howie Roseman as a side gig for him. |

The funny thing is I literally just did this the past month and a half. Headed up a brand new department from the ground up, took 5 software suites and centralized it into one easy to use monitoring system that automated the most basic tasks.

There is a resource the NHL has but it’s supposedly terrible. Doesn’t work well and is difficult to use. Capfriendly’s appeal is it’s relatively easy to use.
This is not something an intern just whips up in an afternoon. A 3rd party could easily charge more than $250k to build a site like that. Then there’s constant management costs. |

For real tho that’s the exact type of GM the Flyers need. Howie doesn’t sit on his hands. He gets things done. |

I loved Mark Streit. When healthy obviously. Unfortunately the Flyers ask way too much of guys like that when they acquire them. Especially on defense.
Kinda wish he hung around the area as a coach. |

Not exactly apples to apples considering. They have a lot of maneuvering they can do in NFL contracts compared to NHL deals.

Howie’s a bright guy…I’m sure he could figure out the NHL salary structure in short order. |
