After all the uproar about Torts ruining Hayes’ trade value you’d think fans would appreciate DB trying to pump up Laughton’s.
- Dkos

If Torts managed to lower Hez' value, surely teams other the Flyers respect Torts' assessments.

Its either that, or the tape was worth more than Tort's thousand words/acts. In the latter case, Tort's had little to do with the trade value.

Looking forward to Lindstrom falling to 12 because of medical. Briere takes the ultimate boom or bust pick. Geopoitical issues last season with Michkov. Potential health issues this draft. In a few years, Briere could look like a genius or a fool.

Hilferty took over a franchise with a bit of an identity crisis. They weren't a lottery team. They weren't a tough team. They weren't a skill team. They were a somewhat insipid team. You can't sell insipid.

Now, they have an identity. They are building the roster (all those draft picks!). They are building a culture of accountability. The malingerers and malcontents are gone. The fans are almost all back. The building is often rocking.

All done by one man. The one who doesn't know his top prospect in the continent from a "hole in the wall"

I would think Hilferty fellates Torts every morning.

Yup, they knew what they were doing when they hired him.

Can't believe we're eating it up -- the absolute most idiotic fanbase in all of sports.

I am very gun shy about Patrick, but fans do want prospects with high ceilings. Lindstrom fits in that category and if it was not for medical be a top 5 pick easily.

Patrick had concussion issues and groin surgery before being drafted. Lindstrom had hand surgery and a back injury-no surgery as of yet. Does his injury over shadow his ceiling? Going to be an interesting answer draft night.

Lindstrom's back is reportedly fine, he will not last past the top 5. He would be a great player for the Flyers to trade up for, a true 1C potential to play with Michkov.

You are correct. In '14-'15 he missed games due to an upper body injury, not verified to be head related.

Do you think Tort’s opinion of Hayes really affected his trade value?

What a relief. It was just a tiny little surgery. Nothing to worry about here.

No, I think Hayes' contract and lack of production affected his trade value.

Teams knew the flyers 100% wanted to move on from hayes. They had next to no leverage.

Had they kept hayes in the spot where he was productive, torts not whine about him, and in a way sabotage hayes they could have received more back. How much more is the debate.

ended that way for sure, but Hayes was on a decent point pace but Torts didnt like how he was playing. Not saying Torts was wrong, but that team was going nowhere, the benching, dropping to 4th line etc didnt help the value, it put a spotlight on the player. Who knows if it hurt the value, it surely didnt help.

TORTS is an EGOMANIAC, shame, he does some things well, if he could just park the EGO

I don't think so.

I think with that guy, a better run club jobbed us with selling high and buying back at the correct price after letting us discover what that latter price was.
