Demidov and Michkov and friends and text one another regularly. I don’t see him falling that far. But if they could move up for him that would really be an interesting opportunity for them to grow together and support each other.

I think you’re right. Top dmen are hardest to find and they should be off the board which isn’t good. I’d be ok with a reasonable trade up to get one but we also have a lot of holes and there’s no guarantees obviously.

yaaaaay

They need center depth all through the organization so I guess a big guy that can bolster the Phantoms.

So Lindstrom recovering from a herniated disk in his back, still on the board and the Flyers are on the clock. Will be a little spicy-ultimate high risk, high reward.

I have heard and read many reports that he is fulled recovered. I don't expect him to get past 5 at the latest

Nobody is at fault. Sean Couturier hasn’t been in great shape for along time.

Having had a Sports hernia, they are not serious, but not comfortable at all. They don't get better without surgury. Knowing this, I am a lot more optimistic about Coot's return next year.

Organizational depth at center is a need. Low risk. I know nothing about this guy other than what I’ve read today.

Helenius would be my choice if the Flyers stand pat and draft best available center, but I still think they need to be aggressive and get into the top 5-7, even if they overpay. Helenius is a nice player but I question if he can be a true #1. Getting one of the top defenseman in this draft could really move this rebuild forward.

Flyers not in a lot of trade rumors that I’ve been reading. I know it’s silly season but usually they’re “in the mix” for trade candidates. It’s kind of encouraging that perhaps the Flyers front office is actually keeping things close to the vest. Even though the deal worked out, we saw how limited the Flyers were when it was public knowledge about Giroux only wanting Florida. And the Quitter trade, while forced upon the Flyers, certainly came as a shock and could’ve been really bad had that info been made public

I dont think there are really any 1C's available in this draft after Celebrini. I see Helenius as a solid 2C moving forward. Of course there is potential there but This team is so bereft of good centers they need as many as they can get.

But as I said, that all hinges on if any of the D are available.

If it's any consolation none of the D are anywhere near locks to be #1s. They all have some flaw or another that they need to overcome. There's not a Hedman or Doughty in the bunch.

Yeah, he's more of a safe pick.

They need to take a bigger swing IMO.

Flyers have to many in the AHL, to many in the NHL, more coming, grade prospects but prospects that could be bottom 6 or 3rd par, time to reshape the system. DB create packages, make smart moves.

Why did both Giroux and Ghost say it took nearly 2 years for them to feel 100% if it’s not that serious?

Alternatives to Helenius and excluding Catton:

At center, Michael Hage
At wing, Eiserman

The thing to understand is beyond Celebrini most of these centers project as 2Cs. There’s always a possibility they reach 1C level but the likelihood is 2C. Helenius’ production is similar to Anton Lundell’s D-0 and D-1 seasons. Lundell is a good player and if Helenius’ reaches that level it’ll be a solid pick.

If BC isn’t there at 12 then I would wait on the center position. Biggest swings likely avail at 12 are Yack and Eiserman….doesn’t seem to be any chance Senneke is gonna be around at this point.
