They effectively traded Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari and a 2024 second-round pick for Darcy Kuemper

Oshie seems like an obvious player to move. 10 team NTC, making $5.75M for 1 more season.

A little confused myself on this one, from their perspective. They're paying $2.75M more per year for more than twice the remaining term on Kuemper's deal for a guy who has been a cancer on every team he's played for and probably isn't likely to achieve the ceiling he was once considered to have.

Maybe they're hoping they can get him to put it all together but I think it's fair to assume that it isn't going to happen at this point.

They needed to move Kuemper but this trade seems pretty counterintuitive.

They are literally just trying to get Ovi the record these next couple years. Just surrounding him with talent to make sure it happens. Bit of a joke organization these days.
