I don't know that but if they're looking for a defensive 3C, those guys don't typically cost 6+ million. But, like I said, they want the guy and the money is second.

Now if they get a guy like Anthony Cirelli, now you're getting a similarly aged player who is simply better. I'm not sure you have the cap room without removing Skinner by next year but there's other things you can do. But your Jenner's, Laughton's (as prev mentioned) are in a lower salary tier than what Casey is lining up to make.

And, again, more importantly, they play differently.

They had those 3 C's for a few years, the problem was they all play very similar styles, and it didn't work.

Dahlin is elite when he is on, but otherwise it's too similar of a situation to say one is better than the other.

He needs to show quality performance again this coming season before he can be fully trusted.
