Most draft picks losing value over time is directed at the 1st, and really top half of the first. Win the lottery on a later pick and of course they go up. Most later picks vanish into obscurity.

I'm not enthralled with Stephenson on longer term contract, wish he would take 3 years. But I get it is their last chance.

And that applies to a lot of the FA's, the last couple years become tougher production wise and hard to move out.

Most of our prospects are guys picked outside the top 10 (aside from Savoie) .

Takes longer, I’m not really sure anyone outplayed benson and the spot he claimed last year.

The only one who looked like they earned a spot is R Johnson. The rest look like they need more development.

Agreed. Johnson looked good, but I wonder how much of that was the lack of talent on the bottom pair. Do he just look "better" than the other guys, or did he legit look like an NHL-ready prospect?
