I am also one of the few who still believe in Krebs becoming that 45-50 point do it all 3C.
- Swedish_Jesus

I agree, if he gets 2 decent wingers

In many ways it was like expecting Reinhart to produce with Seth Griffith and Benoit Pouliot

I am not saying Krebs is the next Reinhart

Well, the reality of the situation is that it is Father's Day and the Sabres are doing nothing. We can talk about a guy that they might get in Martinook with 32 points but that seems like a waste of my time. The Hockey News was delivered to my house back in the day. it was a publication that took a news article from Jim Kelley that was already in the paper. Are we supposed to covet what is written at this point when it never comes to fruition? When there is something to report I will do so. I actually really like your insight 36. Kaleta was a Buffalonian and liked legos. Scored one nice goal against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden if I remember.

It is exactly what they'd kill to add this offseason.

Think we all know the deal happened because they couldn't get him for that.

- Lunaion

I wonder how hard they even tried to get him to extend.

I absolutely would.

I also see why he made the trade for Byram although it took Mitts to do it.

Byram at his peak is absolutely worth more than Casey at his, just comes with more risk.

- Swedish_Jesus

byram 72 points in 164 games
power 71 points in 163 games

I’m with ion, god bless you and your family Brad.

Good thoughts on Byram and Levi.

I like the trade mitts for byram , hope we make a least 1 more “hockey trade” for joker this off season.

Levi may easily be the starter come November, goalies are wish washy at times

They didn't, atleast not until it was to late. Remember putting it out there that he was confused because they hadn't talked and then the Article came out a week later.

You really do not like the mitts/ Byram trade?

I liked Casey but I’m not sure he wasn’t asking for 6 million a year?

Their entire top 4 now are LHD.

Even with Dahlin playing we'll on the right side, it's odd.

Reminds me of Botterill and his obsession with loading up on RHD with seemingly no long term plan in place.

That lead to Montour being traded for peanuts after playing him at forward a few times.

A lot of people were trashing Kaleta during his time here but he overachieved come playoff time

True story on Kaleta, he got booted from alumni golf events for a while because he was doing it for no charge

Ray on the other hand was charging a premium, showing up for the steak dinner, stuffed it down his throat then whaled and bailed

OK, well if he does down the line and Caesy keeps producing. Mitts becomes a fabulous trade piece 2 or 3 years down the line.
- Buff36

And Byram will either be signed long term in his prime or be an even more attractive trade piece.

Some of these guys can switch sides, it’s not a big deal imo.

We were lighter on defensive prospects in the organization and they added a true top 3 nhl defender. That’s a win in my book.

He has the potential to be a top 3 Defender. Hopefully he gets there, but he's still a ? mark after how he finished the season.

they got that top 3 defender for a center they had behind cozens and tage in their depth chart and had no desire to move 1 to the wing long term

I get not paying casey 6 mil per, as they clearly did not want cozens playing that true 3rd line center roll

he produces the same as power and he put up points at a 40 point pace in his limited time as a sabre and clearly will always be behind dahlin on the pp depth chart

if the goal is to have a fast pace high scoring team, byram is exactly what you want in your top 4
it's up to adams and ruff to get that fast pace team going

Byram is a pretty big deal in the nhl, I’d worry more about his injury history imo

He’s a team Canada guy ect.

Definitely top 3 for the Sabres

The Athletic's Murat Ates reported the Jets had previously floated 28-year-old winger, Nikolaj Ehlers, in the trade market. It was suggested he could be used as a trade chip to add a top-four defenseman to the Jets' blueline. The Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, Utah, Washington Capitals and New York Islanders were suggested as possible trade partners.
Ates, meanwhile, maintained his belief that the Jets intend to move Ehlers before the draft. He thinks their asking price could be a first-round pick and a good young non-elite player.

Trade 11, Sammy and whatever else (reasonably) it costs to grab Ehlers and Adam Lowry from the Jets.

Sign Nick Jensen.

Sign Dakota Joshua.

Make playoffs.
