Most of our prospects are guys picked outside the top 10 (aside from Savoie) .

Takes longer, I’m not really sure anyone outplayed benson and the spot he claimed last year.

He burst thru the door and took a lineup spot

- Boss34

I 100% believe Benson would have been in Roch last year, if it were an option. ELC slide played a role in keeping Kulich in Roch. Waivers will play a role in the final cuts this year.

These decisions aren't all based on merit. NHL rules pretty much prevent that.

Trade him with holding 3M with a pick to Utah.

You only pay 600K more this year on the cap.

- ImThatGuy

Full no trade clause for skinner

Guessing Utah is on the list imo

I’m saying the only team he waives his clause for would be Toronto ?

Maybe we dance with the devil?

He played some minutes at the top and looked good.
No, I'm not saying he is a 1st Pairing..... Yet. 😄

I think Johnson is a fabulous skater, and would mesh nicely with Dahlin

Sabres f@cked up letting Peca walk, he really could have helped both those Players. You ever get a chance to meet Kulich ask him about Peca.
- Buff36

I really liked Peca as a player . I’m guessing he’s a good coach as well?

Peca could be our next head coach after Lindy lol

Don't think they burned that bridge?

Think it's clearly Appert, assuming they have some success.

that cap hit is tough in year 3. If you assume 92M cap in 25, 97M in 26, you're sitting at 90 cap with Skinner BO. even if they buy him out next year, they only save like 450K that year, so it's almost irrelevant whether they do it this or next year.

way too far out to run cap predictions, so no need to get into scenarios. But they may be in a bit of a sell complimentary asset mode if they pull the trigger on a BO.

the best gift for hank would be a return of e rod and a trade for bjugstad

OK, so which Sabres prospects should've been handed a job last year?
- Powerslave

savoie should have received more than 4 minutes

esp with the quinn injury

Just for ease of access, Jeff Skinner buyout:

24: 1.44M
25: 4.44M
26: 6.4M
27: 2.4M
28: 2.4M
29: 2.4M

Or retain $3M and trade him wherever he’d move his NMC for.

Could be a negotiating through the media tactic

every single organization in every professional sport has this concern, but I don't see it as any more than a rumor.

pepperidge farm remembers how awful sam reinhart was.

but the other teams are not passing up on first round prospects for

From what I understand he nearly got into a fist fight with Krebs in the lockerroom that he essentially started. If that's true, I don't mind Donny sitting him down. You don't fight with your mates.

It's worth it if they actually intend to use that money this year but I don't think they're big game hunting. They're medium-small game hunting

Yeah, I think it may be prudent to wait two years. Then it's just the 5.6M in the first year and 1.4M the next, then you're done. For now I'd be surprised if he's bought out, but stranger things have happened. So, as you say, not a lot of reason to do it now unless you're actually spending to the cap.

Could Friedman read hockeybuzz? It’s kinda his job to research trade idea’s ect.

I’d give a buyout > 15%
Trade > 20%

What’s your thoughts?

- Boss34

best thing for skinner and the sabres is to have a healthy skinner, tage and tuch put up numbers like 2022-23 season

if they want to trade him , next summer would be perfect for sabres and their cap situation

all a buyout does is give them a little cap relief and a hole in their top 6 for scoring

there is no cap issue keeping him for this season

Up it to $4, throw in Rosen, swap 11 for 23 and we might be close (don't show this to Leaf fans)
