I mean, Quinn is one of like 3 players I don't blame for last season, so good start

I think we need 4 forwards actually. Two in the top six. I'm on the buyout skinner train, and we only have 8 under contract to begin with.

Jersey last year - 1 80pt player (Bratt), 1 70pt player (Hughes), 1 60pt player (Hischier), 1 50pt player (Meier), 2 40pt players (Hughes/Toffoli).

2013-14 Dallas Stars - 1 80 pt player (Seguin), 1 70pt player (Benn), then 1 40pt player (Goligoski)...their 4th leading scorer was Cody Eakin to put that in perspective.

Pretty easy to see why the time in Dallas didn't go well. That Jersey team looked like it was playoff caliber, but had a .896sv%, .439QS% and 3.12GAA for goaltending. So pretty clear why they missed. Essentially, if they get half way decent goaltending, they're in. The Stars roster looked poopty in comparison to the juggernaut they have today.

Ruff's 1st years with new teams:

2013/14: w/ Dallas finished 16th of 30, lost in the 1st round with 2 ppg players and a team of vets

20/21: w/ NJ finished 29th of 31 (Sabres finished 31) w/ a roster similar to Buffalo

I don't know why you shared last seasons stats.

"FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Running back Rhamondre Stevenson said earlier this month that he believed a contract extension with the New England Patriots was "pretty close," and, as he often has done on the field, he has pushed the deal over the goal line.

Stevenson reached agreement with the team on a four-year extension worth $36 million, which includes $17 million fully guaranteed, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday."

I'd say the Sabres can't. UPL could elect two years, straight to UFA.

I'd lean towards UPL not filing. He wants a multi-year and could holdout for it. If he does file, Sabres should be thrilled with a one year deal.

Good way to look at this, well said.

Forward Nick Cousins, who has been scratched from the past eight playoff games, will be in the lineup when the Florida Panthers visit the Edmonton Oilers on Friday in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Panthers hold a 3-2 lead the best-of-seven series but have lost the last two games.

Cousins, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Thursday, is expected to replace Kyle Okposo on the fourth line.

"It's his turn to draw in," Florida coach Paul Maurice said Thursday. "I really liked where Kyle was at. Not that he had a game that changed my mind, but I thought he deserved, based on play, to stay in. The switch was kind of there. I thought, if there was a Game 6, that Nick could go."

Dude, stop. You look silly. There are hundreds of instances on film of Small Hands demonstrating how senile, petty, sleepy, stupid, and simply un-American he is.

One that makes me laugh is when he said he could never have sexually assaulted E. Jean Carrol because she was "not his type". Then in court, under oath, he was shown a picture of her and asked who this is...he said, "that's my ex-wife, Marla Maples". You can't make this stuff up.

You back a man whose family charity foundation was shut down due to fraud, whose college was shut down due to fraud, who bankrupted a casino...literally a money-printing facility...twice and was guilty of fraud when his dad tried funneling money into the failing casino. He hired as Senior Advisor Jared Kushner, whose only resume credential was "landlord" and who lied a dozen times on his security clearance application. Small Hands kneeled down and took Putin's weiner in his mouth in front of the world, writes love letters (literally!) to Kim Jon Un, could only get passed a single thing for 2 years even though he had both Houses of Congress (Border security? No Way. Tax cut for the rich-yes sir), Promised new health care, infrastructure, border wall with Mexico paying for it...my God, you fell for all that baloney? He gave away Syria to let Russia and the douchebags in the Middle East run amock. Biden at least got some stuff done for regular folks...infrastructure, lowering insulin prices, getting to negotiate the price of medications. And funny, after all the GOP turds in Congress voted against the infrastructure bill, they all went home and praised that same bill in front of their local tv cameras.

fwiw Biden just tried using Exec order for the border and the SC shut him down because...wait for it...Congress passes laws, not the White House, and the current GOP in Congress take their marching orders from the Orange Menace.

I am still waiting to see all the evidence of a stolen election. You guys on the right are pathetic mouthbreathers yelling "get off my lawn" to anyone who does not look, talk and worship the same way you do.

Question: If the Florida Panthers told everyone that THEY actually won Game 5 and therefore they won the Stanley Cup...would you support that? No, you'd say they're a bunch of flakes....because they lost. Your guy lost the popular vote to Hilary f'ing Clinton ffs and was roundly beaten by Dementia Joe by millions of votes.

Oh, but but but gas was a buck cheaper! I can hear the wails from the righty news outlets , but they obviously don't recognize inflation is global. Small Hands' tariff war with Chiiiina (and his utter bungling of covid) has more to do with current inflation than anything Joe has done, and I include reading the gas industry the riot act because gas cos have had nothing but record profits off the backs of us consumers since Joe got in.

Lastly, the term "lawfare" is nothing more than righties crying that their guy got caught.

Now if you want to talk about that butterflied leg-of-lamb I cooked on Fathers Day, I'd be happy to share the recipe with you.

Any juicy rumors floating around here I should know about?

It's probably not in Adams' ability to do that much work, but I hope you're right. I think we need a bit of a facelift there as well. I go back and forth with Skinner though. I wonder if that's necessary yet given the cap space we have.

I don't have a problem with Joker. I am in agreement that they can't bring the whole band back, though.

I'd like to see a different type of defenseman back there. Dahlin is Dahlin, but where's our "Jay McKee" type of leader back there? Throw money at DeMelo or Pesce if they hit the market. Dillon would be a good get, too.

I don't think he has the balls to trade samuelsson and so the top 4, nothing will change and honestly we have seen nothing over the last few years other than hope and potential to show it's going to be a solid 2 way group going forward

In 2013 I'm surprised, I thought they missed the playoffs, but with that roster is it any surprise?

And 2020-21 was the short season, so it'd take more time than I care to, to map all that out. But it looks to me like he had 1 70pter, 1 60pter, 2 50pters and 2 40pters. Comparing that to the average playoff team, they weren't a playoff caliber roster.

He then took that roster from 19 wins, to 27, to 50. So I think you can safely say he did improve that team, but also needed a bit more on the roster to do so. I mentioned his last year in NJ because it's the most recent. He got better results from the team, despite the roster not being great, but got killed by goaltending. He shouldn't have that problem here.

I expect much better, time will tell. Do you think his impact will be very small?

i dont personally say much about him. think he has all the talent in the world, historically most defensemen need a few years to establish themselves. he was inconsistent, but im pretty patient with him at this point.
- TheSabresTaco

One thing all of don’t take in to account is that none of those young men have grown into their size or potential! Most of you were a bean pole or a fatso at that time!!!

I think it will take at least 1 season to get the group to buy into his system, the desperate front office and outside pressure to win this season though will force him to rush himself and the players….who are known to fold under pressure.

I think he needs more time, if they don’t make the playoffs, I predict a bloodbath….(CNN is going nuts right now that I wrote bloodbath)
