Yeah I just don't know Foerster. I'll take your word on it. I'm more excited about Farabee than most and think he'd be a good fit. As Taco said, there are certainly higher echelon targets I'd hope for, but if a guy like Ehlers isn't going to happen...Farabee isn't a bad consolation prize and a big upgrade to our middle 6 vs the guys we've been forcing in there with the kids (ex: Greenway).

Good post.
👍

Only downside I see is that Kevyn then just increased the need for C's from 1 to 2. Could he then engineer 2 trades for C's?

Ryan Johnson and Peyton Krebs for Farabee

I'd do this.

Im not trading a 11oa or a Kulich for him.

The next time I take fans advice instead of a cup winning coaches... will be the first

When a player sucks at the defensive side of the puck, effort typically has something to do with it.

- DirtyDan

I don't think he sucks at defense either. It's his weaker point, but he is willing to block shots, throw a few hits and had a 56% CF% last year. Not saying he's winning any Selke votes, but he does bring some intangibles to the table in the d-zone.

Thanks!

I have very little faith in Adams, my only hope is he's forced to do something to keep his job. I'd say...under duress...simply...I (frank)ing hope so.

Where are you at on Adams' moves? Think he's feeling the pressure? Will he improve the team substantially this summer?

I think we'll miss RyJo, I'd try to swap him out if feasible but it is likely that 11OA>, so it isn't a bad swap for us. Just backs up a replacement D by a couple years.

You still on this Yakemchuk train with me?

Out of curiosity, do you think Kulich ever becomes a 50pt player for us?

I do. But thought you were a little underwhelmed by him. Sorry if I'm misattributing someone else's post.

You are not mistaken it was I.

I think he can get there. I just had his effort in question but I believe someone had brought to my attention he was playing through injury maybe or something along that line.

He had a great first year in the AHL followed up by improving his game 2nd year but had some issues down the stretch and into the playoffs. I think he'll come in to camp with some fire.

And D!ckinson wouldn't be a bad fall back option or Elick in the 2nd if he is still there.

I like this kid, he's vicious in front of his own Net. We need one of those types.

He's awful defensively but Max Domi would be a decent insurance policy down the middle. They could always use him as an offensive 2C and put Cozens in more of a shutdown role. Or slot him at 2LW with Cozens and shift him to center if need be. I hope they don't just get some Adam Mair guy who will look ridiculous if he has to slot higher in the lineup due to injury

They tried Cozens in that role last year. His offensive game took a hit.

Find a more two-way 3C to alleviate some of that pressure from Cozens. Let him open up his offensive game. Give him less defensive starts more offensive starts this year. See the worlds as example.

Not sure he makes it to our second round pick, have seen him go end of first round but he looks like a solid d-man.

Weaknesses are puck play and passing. Easy to improve and/or shelter.

I think he is going to overpay and get meh players.. nothing to jump up and down for.
Overall, my gut tells me it will be underwhelming, more assets out than should be and will have blocked remaining assets.
I don't have too much faith in him, and certainly don't trust the Professional Player evaluations.

He has a real coach in his ear this offseason and not Granato banging the desk for his old USHL players.

This should improve the quality a bit at the least

I'd be very surprised if Yakemchuk if available at 11.
I think your looking at Helenius, maybe, just maybe Sennecke
