Impressive post

I really can’t see the Sabres moving on from tage imo

Sabres definitely need guys who are tougher to play against, tage seems like he holds his own , with his size and kinda toughness

It’s team toughness that’s tough, gotta change almost half the roster

- Boss34

who on this roster has a little jam

dahlin
clifton
maybe samuelsson on the back end

on the front end
tuch
krebs
greenway

that's about it

and none of them play a heavy game expect clifton

he waiving that NMC? I guess Hall did.

If Adams and Ruff are serious about this, which they should be, they should be telling him his role will be very limited on the Sabres moving forward and they are trying very hard to secure him a better role on a new team

Think he might prefer being bought out to playing somewhere he doesn't want to go.

Yeah, but that’s a hefty ask if there are legitimate offers on the table that free the Sabres and Pegulas of some or most of that burden

This is the last year of a centralized NHL draft. It will be run more like the NFL draft going forward thank God.

I'm just gals he stopped trying to pull off the 64' Diameter Pirouette move.. although the Russian Judge did give him a 6 on it.

i hate this argument. you don't need players that instinctively play a "heavy" game. you need to have a coach who demands and hold players accountable to play the right way. it does not matter if your 5'5 of 6'5, all players can finish checks, playing a heavy game does not mean checking players through the boards, it means taking away space and always finishing your checks. just putting pressure on the opposing players. Out whole entire roster can and should be able to play like that. its not that hard. I think Lindy can get them to play the right way for sure.

If he gets bought out, he would only need to sign for ~$3.5m to break even.. on average over the next several years .. or get like 3x$5.
He gets to choose he destination

Is there a really difference if the Sabres held $4m given his full NMC that he controls who he waives for?

lol

I think tage was part of the problem last season , weather it was injury or just an off season.

I also think tage is a huge part of our future success.

He’s gonna bounce back imo

He's awful defensively but Max Domi would be a decent insurance policy down the middle. They could always use him as an offensive 2C and put Cozens in more of a shutdown role. Or slot him at 2LW with Cozens and shift him to center if need be. I hope they don't just get some Adam Mair guy who will look ridiculous if he has to slot higher in the lineup due to injury

Max Domi, 3 years, $5M per.

I have skinner at 10% or less for waiving his nmc
I have skinner at 15%-20% chance of a buy out

This is the first season a trade has been talked about imo . When skinner stayed with Krueger coaching and getting benched ……: good chance he wouldn’t waive then either

It seems so obvious when the whole team played that way, they were coached not to chase hits on the forecheck... I have never seen a team execute more drive by's than in the last 3 years.

I agree with your post, puck pressure and finishing checks causes mistakes as Dmen look over their shoulders. I never understood the passive forecheck they played.

are you honesty sold on UPL and Levi? i am not..... i think it would be a mistake to have them as the tenders, Levi should cook another year in the AHL and we should bring in a proven goalie for a year or 2.

if it were me, I would seriously consider trading my first for Jusse Saros, i know he has only 1 year left. he is 29 if you can get him extended for a year like 7 mil then you can have a Saros/UPL tandem let Levi cook and you can trade Saros for prob a first rounder in 2 years...

What’s the going rate?

What’s the buffatax on that deal?

Domi might actually like to play close to Toronto , remember when that helped the Sabres sign guys.

That term is the going rate, and the $5M AAV is the Buffatax.

Sabres about to Pay upl some big bucks

Levi’s gonna cost decent money soon as well.

Best young tandem in the league possibly

Levi wouldn’t be happy with another year in the ahl imo

I think the biggest part of our goalie issues was our team d and pk

the quality of shots our goalies faced was beyond bad

crouse, colton, trouba helps our 5 on 5 and pk D a lot

6k was top 10 in GAA with bad d, so I expect an uptick if you improve the d as that plays a big part in how your goalie plays

crawford was decent for the hawks when they won cups and blah when they were blah and this example can be used for 85 percent of goalies during their nhl careers
