It's not a remote surprise that Taco and Boss like a Sabres move.
Happens all the time.
Then it all goes to poop. - kingcong39
I mean a 60pt C at 5mill sounds good, hope Byram works. Just my opinion on things |

The trade doesn't make the team tougher to play against, and it most likely will not save them money.
The trade though, shows Adams desire to make the bottom 6 tougher to play against because Mitt's wasn't going to be in the top 6?
I think Mitt's needed to be traded, I don't think the trade solves any problems for the Sabres.
The Sabres missed the playoffs and the trade has extended the conversation regarding the rosters potential.
Now we wait to see the roster get tougher.....

I really don't mind moving Mitts, I just don’t think they needed to use him to get a Top 4 Dman. |

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Old Pink, a popular bar on Allen Street in Buffalo, was destroyed in a fire early Monday morning.
The fire was first reported around 5:45 a.m. Monday with flames and heavy smoke coming from the bar. The fire was mostly put out by 7 a.m. as flames were no longer coming from the building. Officials confirmed that the building cannot be saved and was too far gone by the time crews arrived and an emergency demolition was ordered. Damages were estimated at $1.25 million.
Officials said that there is one area of the building that they are concentrating on for the cause, but it is still under investigation. When fire crews arrived there were workers who were leaving, but nobody was inside of the building.
Allen Street between College Street and Mariner Street is currently closed as crews investigate the blaze. Additional closures include Elmwood Avenue between Virginia Street and North Street and Wadsworth Street between Allen and St. Johns Place.
According to the bar’s Instagram page, it was established in 1990. The bar became beloved in the Allentown neighborhood and across Buffalo, known for its steak and bologna sandwiches as well as its music.

He doesn't have to be, even if he gets 7.75mill or so you are pushing 30mill on 3 Dman - Buff36
The Cap gets to $100m in a few years.
Hope he earns $8m. Next year may be right but then with Cap increases the pain begins to ease a bit. |

No argument here, just saying power got paid early and paid very well based on his draft status of 1OA.
Not his marginal play - Boss34
Power got the Draisaitl contract.
Edmonton now absolutely loves that contract.... 100pts annually.
Power now needs to apply himself to his trade.. he has the talent, but does he have the drive? |

Fwiw, Byram has a bit of a mean streak. He's certainly "harder to play against" than Mitts. Got suspended in the world's this year for a cup check, had a few pretty gnarly hits for us too. Or don't agree? |

You disappeared when they played badly.
Afraid to read the truth about the team's shortcomings and mismanagement?
How can you like the trade already?
Byram looked great for 3 or 4 games, then looked as lost as he did the past 2 seasons in Colorado.
Blaming all that on coaching, again?
Lindy better be a miracle worker.
The Sabres are the only team I follow and root for, but I don't do so blindly. |

I can't wait to see him in Lindy's system. Just hope Wilfirds can effective install it and coach-up players in it.
When Bryan first came to the Sabres, he was a revelation.. constnd movement with or without rhe puck.
Hope that is part of the new system... Sabres have the players for it |

Well said and agreed.
Roman Josi plays the style for NSH that at least 3 of our defenders can. Attack the zone like you're a 4th forward. Rotate out and backcheck like a demon if you get caught. It's such a great way to confuse defenses and create separation. Byram knew the deal coming in, it seems he got talked out of it. If Lindy et all can exhort that type of play, not only will we make the playoffs, but we'd actually be a pretty successful post-season team IMO.
You are spot on yet again Mr Ion. |

I think Byram will cost between 5-6 million per year.
Any thoughts?
I’d just rather have a good defenseman than mitts, for the same cost or a tad less - Boss34
I'd assume 7+. First, does he want to be here?
He'll be 2 years from UFA. He'll have some leverage.

I must've missed the hits, he might be. He's known as a skilled offensive defenseman.
If he plays mean, that's great, the team remained the same after the trade.
Instead of having 3 centers that were interchangeable, you now have 3 defensemen who are interchangeable.

I like the move but I also understand why it was done. It was explained thoroughly by the team why it was done. Me liking it has no importance what so ever. I'm just telling you why it happened.

The entire plan is trade out casey, fill a defensive gap, replace casey with a boone jenner type. He's got two weeks.

there's an argument here. I think it was a two bird one stone concept. Keeping Casey blocks how they are reforming the team.
With Matt Rempe.

This was the one that came to mind when I think of him hitting. Bad hit, but at this point I'll take a poop stirrer, which it seems he might be.

Out of curiosity, what do you value more? Is having 3 D or 3 C's better? Say they're all about equivalent impact for sake of argument. |

if you don't like a move you don't like a move. no one should be taking offense to liking or disliking something.
not sure i needed the jab for liking the swap but that's ok.
