Can't remember the last time Sabres goaltending went as planned. One guy playing poorly or an injury causes chaos.
Lot of smoke on Johnson getting moved. Just bringing back last seasons D would be unacceptable, imo. Also worried about their depth, with some injury prone guys in that group. - Lunaion
Of course I’d like an upgrade to the defense, I just can’t see the Sabres adding anyone significant/costly. It just doesn’t make sense imo.
Joker seems likely to be traded, but he could be back as well .
No room
No $ to allocate on new defensemen

I would send Samuelson with Rosen or one of our prospects a team values similar for a legit #4 D if a team is trying to get younger |

Still banking on the anointed phenom, or more so hoping after last season? - kingcong39
Just guessing again, but I’m still a huge levi fan.
Also liked upl , when nobody did.

If Skinner and Joker are gone, I'd say that opens up a lot of room to make a move on D.

They need a little, or even a lot more thunderdome in their approach.
Get as many quality players as possible, and let them fight by way of performance to determine who earns a long term spot.
One of the issues has been automatically allocating positions to players.
No more of that.
Have to earn it going forward, no matter the contract or possible contract. |

Agreed, although samuelsson is probably at an all time low in value currently.
Could just cut some dead weight I guess?
Adams paid Samuelson, I think they are probably very vibey tighter as well
Good to hear from you, hope you’re well |

Neither one has earned the long term trust of quality performance.
Scary that both are going to be relied on next season. |

Adams is way too nice to the players.
You might be right about Samuelsson's value, but many teams have been calling. |

I think it's 50/50 who their number 1 is by the end of season, and a small chance of it being neither.

I completely agree with this post but, the Sabres philosophy isn’t going to suddenly change.
I’m expecting a trade or 2 , maybe 3 fresh forward faces and maybe a defender
Also expecting Savoie to make this team

Interesting, and it of course is dependent on what Adams can actually accomplish, but I'd put the odds of Savoie making the NHL roster at less than 20% |

Why sell at an all time low?
Adams may make a few moves this offseason, but I don’t see samuelsson being traded imo
I like the idea, sometimes you have to move on from a player , and if other teams are really calling. Maybe his value sinks lower? |

I’m with you, could be either guy that takes the net.
If upl gets paid big time, he’s gonna get every shot to start the season.

If Skinner gets booted, it would be the second time in his career that a new coach kicked him out to make the team better. |

always hurt
may not be able to move him after another injured season
it's a cap era and you need to be able to show up to work IMO
missing 25 to 41 games each year does not help the team |

could always take another step backwards |

Yeah, Lun had had Savoie as a “long shot” of making the opening roster too.
I’m more 75% sure / 25% sure it’s kulich
I’m expecting a similar roster upfront with maybe 3 new faces
Tage tuch skinner
Peterka cozens and Quinn
Benson - Greenway
Girgs Krebs -
Rousek
Maybe no girgs

Just buy samuelsson out or dump him for less next year.
Let’s see what he has first imo
Assuming his value is fairly low currently |

Dang, if we can get rid of Skinner alone we free up a lot of room. I really hope he waives, the buyout figures just aren't appealing. He can still produce offense and we don't need this money straight away. |

Fwiw, there are several teams that called to see if he's available. A buyout isn't in the cards there. |
