There's a lot of upside to the opposite as well. Wrote more about it above, but if you're a budget team, then the cap hits down the road matter much less. The real $ savings are significant and the restructure is great.

There's plenty of reason to think that their internal budget is not going to keep up with the cap....and plenty of reason to think that KA shouldn't worry about that far down the road.

If Lindy doesn't want Skinner, don't force it, imo.

I think this is it completely. With more minutes, there's quite a few guys that could excel on that top line as we saw with Peterka. The point of moving Skinner should be to save money firstly, but more importantly to add a guy that is a puck hound and good defensively, to offset the glutton of skilled forwards.

like it or not skinner is generally a dependable 50-70 point player. You don't just buy him out and stick Matt Savoie in there and hope for the best during a "we need to win" season. I know he won't do it. With a buyout will almost certainly come another shoe, who can score and is a better player.
