Again with this crap ?

They were right in their analysis, Benson had no business falling to 13.

No different than Catton being mocked outside the top 10 due to his height.

Benson will be a top 7 player at worst out of this last draft class and it won’t be a surprise to most

Did Benson not sign your ball cap on the Florida trip or something ?

You know what they say, you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.

If the Sabres choked away a 3-0 SCF lead and lost I think that would be my final straw. I would move to Alaska, become Amish and refuse to talk about anything other than caribou. I wish you the best.

Man really sucks to be Florida. They look gassed. They already look like they lost.

Not good, Bob.

I get the sentiment. Changing your team around the way that this team required is virtually impossible in-season. You got what you got. Yeah you can probably make a statement trade, but you need another team to do it with. You really just don't see it.

Being overconfident in the 'bringing the band back' concept is partially what (frank)ed us. But you also need to remember that virtually exact same roster got within a point and was high flying and tons of fun.

Massive roster regression as a whole, bad coaching, non existent power play, and a GM who didn't have the stones or ability to do enough to make this team better as a whole and accepted what was the year prior, ultimate mediocrity.

The GM fumbled, the coach was terrible, the players weren't that good.

Does hiring Craig Berube after Christmas turn that team around? I dunno, maybe.

- TheSabresTaco

The same team got within 1 (3 really) after career high performances from multiple key players, a couple of which were veterans.

Banking on even close to career high performances was never a smart idea.

Clifton’s a solid bottom pair

Even if the Sabres were finally “trying” this offseason, that doesn’t change the fact that good players have better options than Buffalo.

I’m leaning more towards another hockey trade than anything ufa imo

- Boss34

They did not bring in Clifton to be on the 3rd pair.

They brought him in to be part of the top 4, on the 2nd pair with Power, hoping he'd be a cheap top 4 player.

Instead, he's a slightly overpaid 3rd pair player.

Swing and a miss.

Basically you'd be saying that Dahlin and whoever are a good 1st pair and Byram and Samuelsson are a good second pair.

If Dahlin is the man, as I've been told he is, then you make the deal

- Hank Balling

Just cannot resist the shot 🤣

The hate flows through you strongly.

Maybe they should trade Dahlin, since Power has clearly made Dahlin redundant.

>>> “When it comes time to actually make decisions at the draft table, even if I’m lower on a player than a particular scout or whatever, we all agree that the process that we’ve used to come up with our final list is the best process that we can come up with,” Ventura said. “And so, we have very unified support in pursuing players that we’re targeting at the draft table every season.”

>>> “We really believe in this collaborative process where, as an organization, we are identifying players with strong support from both the scouting and stats perspectives,” Ventura said. “Our scouts are incredibly open-minded and eager to compare notes and discuss players, and their feedback has made us better at what we do.”

I bet you get an entirely different, much more succinct answer from Ventura in private about how they come to collective draft decisions.

Seems like Adams let's the old school Forton crew make the pick from time to time.

Agree, kinda frustrating that we really don't know if any of the prospects are going to help. Adams is changing his philosophy on building a Team through draft picks because it's failing. And know he's having problems attracting good players because he hasn't looked like he wants to Win.

If you are building a team through the Draft, you atleast need to know what some of them can do by there D3 season. You are just on the same Merry-go-round if you don't.

And on Top of building through the draft, not bringing in the right mentorship to help these kids grow. Total failure by upper Management. Especially since you thought Okposo and SirFallsAlot were the right choices to mentor. We can Blame the area and players not wanting to come here cause Buffalo is supposedly a crappy City. But that's Bullsh!t IMO, this is a failure of Adams not changing the culture.
