I think you've been consistently higher on Rosen then the league is in general.
Is Rosen even a 30 point 3rd line player in the NHL? - kingcong39
I've spent a lot of time watching him. He's extremely talented, very fast but still gets handled by bigger defensemen.
Yes I think he's a 30 point player.

Actually found that some fans from other Teams prefer Ostlund over Rosen |

So go get both players Kevyn, Sabres can beat that supposed offer. - Buff36
Hm. Reichel and Krebs I think have similar value. Murphy>Joker, 11OA>18OA
11, Joker, Krebs for both. IF McGroarty's ego can handle Rochester.

His problem handling bigger players isn't getting any easier in the NHL. |

nope and he probably has two more years to gain the strength to play in the top 9 consistently. This summer I hope is huge for him.

1. Benson
2. Savoie
3. Kulich
4. Levi
5. Ostlund
6. Isak Rosen, LW, 20 (Rochester Americans)
Rosen’s a slippery goal-scoring winger who just looks talented in possession. On the attack, he’s a crafty handler who sneaks through traffic to navigate in and out of space in control, drawing attention as he goes. A lot of the tools he hones are also the ones required of smallish players (he’s now listed at 6 feet and 173 pounds which is up an inch and five pounds for last year) in today’s game.
He’s inventive. He’s a light, fluid skater who changes directions in an instant and beats defenders off of cuts. And his ability as a marksman really can’t be overstated (though he’s still figuring out how to get to the inside more consistently in the AHL to go from productive to closer to point per game). His shot is pinpoint accurate (both his one-timer and his wrister) and he makes a ton of quick adjustments before he releases the puck to catch goalies and defenders off guard. Though his mentality is to look to attack the slot to score, he’s also got great touch with the puck when play breaks down and he has to improvise or make a play to a linemate.
He’s going to have to learn to play a little differently to build toward a scoring role at the next level but with patience and proper development, he’s going to inject skill into an NHL top nine and threaten on the power play in the long term. He’s got the threatening transition game, nifty release, perimeter speed and control, and shot shaping to become a 20-plus-goal scorer. He can run a little hot and cold (he was hot to start this season but has cooled of late in Rochester), but consistency will come with reps and maturity and you have to remind yourself of his age when considering he has already played two years in the AHL. |

Using Adams new communication approach, “At the time” regardless of what Rosen may become in 2/3+ years, it was a terrible use of an asset for a desperate organization.
The horseshoe hairline club is not good at drafting. |

i know we talked about it the other day but with chad's washington rumor, he claimed it wasn't strome, which is disappointing and not surprising.
Dowd and Jensen are the guys I think they're peddling.

I'm conflicted a bit.
In the argument for a lower contract value, I'd cite his negative impact on Dahlin, Power, Bryam and Clifton when paired with them. While he played Top 4, I don't believe he was justified being there...he just sucked less than other options. He is a passenger versus play driver. Looks lost defensively, especially in front of his own net.
In the argument for, he has 19:00ATOI, decent production, is young and played on a lottery team that was a collective mess defensively...so how much was the negative QoTm impacting him.
While EV has him at 3 x $4.0m, my gut says closer to $3.25 - $3.5m - IonSabres
He's been top 4 for almost all of his 5 years in Buffalo. Hard to make the case that it wasn't deserved. It's a long time.
In xGF%, Dahlin, Samuelsson, RJ were each better with him last year. In actual GF%, almost everyone is. |

I wonder if Ruff gives him a few decent wingers
tough break getting okposo and girgens on his wing
first round passing skills playing with an over the hill and a never was - homiedclown
Skinner, Krebs, Greenway was awful. If they showed any life, this offseason might look much different.
Skinner, Krebs, Quinn and Skinner, Krebs, Peterka got less time, but were even worse. |

Let me preface this post with this: I don't want Girgensons back. At all. It's time to move on.
I'm fine with keeping Krebs, but Girgensons had 8 goals (missed 20 games) last year, and 10, 10 and 12 the previous three seasons.
You want "better" wingers, but you're not really plugging guys in who are going to score more than that on your fourth line. You're just not. Girgensons' production was fine for a fourth line player.
Maybe some different skill set? But I want my fourth line to be an energy line. Guys who are going to forecheck like mad, hit, grind, and keep the opposing defenses looking over their shoulders. |

I don't need my fourth line players to score more than 30 points. But a guy like Will Carrier is three times the player that Girgensons ever will be. Girgensons *does* nothing. Get guys who do something. If he does one thing, it's average PK skill. |

Wasn't there a story that they had to add a standard deviation just for him this season. Special stuff.

The roster is mid, lead by an incompetent front office. |
