Byram's also 3 years younger and plays a position that tends to take more time to develop.

It is, and I really do hope Byram excels here. Definitely has the talent. But could the Sabres have gotten Mitts signed for the reported 5yr 25mill he could sign in Colorado. If they had atleast made conversation with him during the year, not a month before the TDL, even Mitts himself said he was confused. They have the assets to have gotten a good Dman without opening another hole. Especially if that 3C comes in costing more than 5mill

If Mitts signs for 5mill, Byram better play Well. They didn't have to give up a 60pt option to fill there needs. They opened up another one.

I think moving Casey was simple a case of Adams likes Tage and Cozens more at center and had no desire to move one of them to the wing and no desire to move casey up to the top 6 as a winger
