I know they got him to be a middle 6 guy, but given our predicted cap space after jeffy is bought out, couldn't he be a really nice player on the 4th line and PK?
- Slump Buster

Yes sir, with two caveats.

1. The coach plays him on the 4th line, and not on the top 2 lines

2. They bring in 2 physical, grinding type players to add to the 4th line

Number one means the GM is going to need to bring in enough talent to make sure the top 6 temptation is non-existent.

Overall, I'm not sure I'm paying to bring Greenway back when he becomes a UFA.

completely agree with all of that. I don't know which experiment went worse - Greenway on the top line or Krebs as 3C. I think Greenway is going to be viewed the same way we look at Joker: I'd take him on a bottom line for the right price, but I am not paying for him.

He could. I see his value, even if I'm not a fan.

Just some info I got I’ll share- I don’t know if any of it will come true but whatever

Skinner is gone

Jokiharju is gone

Krebs is most likely gone

Ostlund is the prospect they are trying to push on teams but if teams demand Savoie they will do it. Kulich is going no where and they like Rosen as a depth piece.

Expect them to make a push for a high end UFA - I’m guessing Kane or Debrusk

Matt Roy will also be high on their list.

They’re gonna add a banger. It’s a forgone conclusion.

Wow.

I like Roy. He hits, blocks ALOT of shots, can move the puck, he's big.

As always, the info is appreciated.

Any word on how Skinner is leaving?

The part with Ostlund is interesting as it seems the consensus was that he might have a higher ceiling than some of the other prospects. But whatever - we can probably throw them in a hat and have the same odds as predicting who will pan out.

Regression not being on their minds is lunacy considering the career highs that happened 2 seasons ago.

There were cracks showing towards the end of that season too, and nothing worthwhile was done.

- kingcong39

I think he’s bought out.

I heard a while ago Skinner actually wants out. It’s mutual him leaving

One of the big selling points of Ostlund is that he projects at C, while the other big prospects don't. If Krebs goes as well, there's no C's in the system.

If the offseason goes that way, system could turn to bad quickly.

So in that sense, he has them over a barrel. He wants out, and he wants to go out on his terms (buyout). It isn't like they can hold on to him until he came around to their desire (a trade). Yuck.

I don't know about that. They have their top centers locked up for forever. I suspect they will get a 3C and 4C with term this offseason. So where would they have room for one? Also, they will still likely have a pretty decent pipeline after the moves are made. Can always make another trade using those pieces.
