No, the other way around, I am way, way more right than wrong. The Flyers are rebuilding whether you like it or not. A rebuild does not equate to firesale, ice a team full of 21 year old kids and look forward to a top 10 pick in the draft every year. That is the Buffalo Sabres, who have picked in the top 10 (including 2 top overall picks) since the 2013 NHL draft. In fact this is the first draft since 2012 the Sabres are not picking in the top 10. Sorry, I want no part of this legacy for the Flyers.

TK will be extended and its the right thing to do. He is a Flyer true and true, and is a leader, as well as a hell of a good hockey player. The Flyers cannot build a contender by jettisoning every good player they have. They need to decide which players are part of the solution and keep them, and TK is defintely part of the solution.

The Flyers may sign 1 or 2 depth free agents for short money, but mark my words, there will be more subtraction than addition this off season, barring and big trades.

- jd250

to quote cliff, public record says and shows otherwise.

They are not rebuilding. You are a parrot who believes everything they say.

When will you acknowledge the sabres did it the right way. They acquired the top picks. They put themselves in the position to make those picks. Why won’t you admit that part? They have failed overall because incompetent management and ownership. Sound familiar?

Lol you say they are rebuilding on one hand then say re-signing tk is the right thing to do. Pure entertainment. Yes he Is a flyer. Bleeds new era orange. Represents what the flyers are all about the last 12 years or so. losers. It will be another dumb ass signing like many others. I pray they cave and give him 10 million. They cant build a contender around tk either.

By this do you mean he’ll be an overpaid anchor just eating up cap space when they need him most? Trying to figure out if you meant to type “tried and true” or “through and through”?

TK's trade value is not going to be as high as it could be because he needs to be extended, and for any team other than the Flyers, TK would ask for a max deal with probably a full NMC and no home town discount. I think a player like Frost or Farabee would be more intriguing to a team like Ottawa.
- jd250

he will get a max deal with a nmc along with no hometown discount when the flyers re-sign him.

what will your spin be then?

I’d say no. That’s not much of a return for tk to move up. The issue is that it’s not a strong draft and after celebrini there’s really no can’t miss picks. I’d say tk and the 32 and 3rd for the 7 and a top prospect.
- Hextall271

That’s kind of what I said.

ALL OF THIS.

Buffalo had a leader in Ryan O' Reilly...You know what they did....Turned him into Tage Thompson. They also put themselves in position to get Dahlin, Eichel, Power.

Now like you said their management has been suspect and I am shocked they brought back Ruff, but I would rather be where they are. You can see a path forward with them

ruff will be a good short term fix to get them to the playoffs. he is the greatest coach ever compared to their previous coaches

WHO CARES!

The Flyers will not be a contenders for about 3-4 years probably. What good does it do to tie long term money into a player like Konency? I am not saying he is a scrub but he isn't a superstar. He is a nice Robin to a team with a Batman. He might even be an Alfred to Batman and Robin on teams.

The Flyers need roster flexibility right now and do not need to tie it up on Konecny. He should be used to gain more rebuilding pieces along with Laughton so the Flyers can build a base to build around.

- J35Bacher

I love TK….but the time frame does not work to keep him if they are serious about a rebuild.

I do.

If Konecny is a top player then why do the Flyers need to add?

- J35Bacher

I think the top 12 picks in this draft have legit star potential….they are going to have to pay for that.

one big diff between the 2 imo is sanheim doesn't miss games. that has value

his style of play will allow him to age fine. as long as his game doesn't slip his contract is solid. now would I have moved him yes.

What if they give him an extension? I agree after getting burned somewhat by Debrincat…they may want an extension in place to make the deal….if that’s the case maybe it’s a little less of a price tag.

I agree somewhat….TK is a smallish forward that will be on the wrong side of 30 fairly early in a long term contract.

I am looking forward to the draft. It's where you see the big, team altering trades happen and I am hopeful that DB is looking at all these options. We've got a surplus of wingers and need some centre help. Wondering if there could be a large trade with a couple other teams that sees some picks moving around, young players and maybe TK involved to address some needs. Danny doesn't seem like the type of Gm to tip his hand so WRT TK, what would the org say? He's on the block everyone, we're selling low on this guy.. oops couldn't find a trade so now you have to play for us next year knowing we don't want you..

As I've said, if you have to re sign him, don't give him a NMC so you can flip him at some point if a team overpays. Everything should be on the table and it's good that he has a couple firsts the next two years to give him more cards to play.

I get it but I feel like they are going in a Tortarella route somewhat. One of those old school type coaches.

I thought maybe they would look for someone a little younger, to be with that team as it grows now and bring fresh eyes.

why do you keep saying this? they are not going to sell low. no team is going to make a "low" offer. tk has value no doubt. overvalued by you and many other flyer fans however.

he is getting a nmc 100%. to think otherwise is silly.

He is getting one. If he extend in Philly that will be demanded so if they do ever want to move him he has a say

they need someone to come in now to get them to the playoffs. no issue with that route where that team is at.

someone to set the stage for the next coach.

Clearly contingent on TK resigning. Idk why people always do this. No crap they wouldn’t say yes if it was a one year rental.

He’s a top 6 winger and all star who has played for a bad team his entire career. He definitely has value and could really flourish. I get that you’re frustrated that the team isn’t conducting a full tear down but that doesn’t mean that tk doesn’t have value. Just because DB has said he’s going to re sign him doesn’t mean that he won’t accept a strong offer that he receives at the draft.

That’s a good point. They trade for tk and he re signs with them. Very simple.

Would disagree about the top 12 having star power....the top 4 to 6 maybe but thatsx even stretching it. Not a star studded draft

where do you come up with this? not one person has said he doesn't have value.

you seem to think some team will overpay for tk the superstar. they will not. the trade template for players like him is pretty much set.

the offers they get will be fair and solid. therefore, imo they will not move him (unless tk forces their hand). just like they said they need an overpayment to move scoty phucking Laughton.
