PPs are 4-3 Edmonton through two periods. That's a lot both ways. Cats probably should have just had a penalty for clipping Skinner in his crease. - MattStrat
It was a bump. Erods slash was BS, but you know who had the puck. Wish someone could catch Mcdavid right as he gets the puck doing those crossovers blindside. It would be so easy to read if you wanted to really step up. Probably get 10 games but it would be worth it. |

Haha. That wasn’t? This is hilarious. Cups probably don’t feel the same when the leagues dying to gift it to you. |

Well I mean I've seen and heard so many people saying the Pens were gifted cups the years they won haha.... Depending on you ask this year some would say it's rigged to go Florida. I didn't really get too much of a bias in calls that game. There were too many overall IMO.
For the record I don't give much of a fvck who wins this series. Kinda want to see McDavid get it but I really like the Cats how they play, their players and coach. Plus they've never won one in franchise history even though they've made finals in other seasons. I'm not one of those Canadians that thinks the cup belongs "here at home" hahah. I'm a die hard Pens fan my whole life, that's where I want it always haha. Besides, I think there's like 22 Canadians on one of these teams playoff rosters and 15 on the other.. It will spend most of the summer up here for those that care. |

I don't understand how anyone who truly loves hockey can actually hate him and what he brings every game. |

Great game tonight. I think its getting to the point where McDavid should win the Conn Smythe even if the Oilers lose.
The place will be rocking in Edmonton on Friday. It will be unimaginable scenes in Florida if it goes to Game 7. |

What does he bring that he wasn’t just naturally born with? That’s not impressive to me. I bet he hardly hangs out with teammates. |

This is what you come back with?.. Horibble take man. Kind of sounds like you're implying he hasn't worked hard as well hahah ... The guy is like 5 points off the all time playoffs points record (47) set by Gretzky, a record most thought would never be touched. Mario is second with 44.
First player in history to have back to back four point games in a finals...both elimination games at that.
Sid barely hangs out with teammates. Mario barely did. The highly famous and recognizable superstars are known to be a bit more secluded and sheltered. |

You have to respect his skill but he just comes off as a bit of a pompous rich kid. Not entirely sure why I feel that way. I remember he did this video with his girlfriend showing off the house she designed or something and I just thought they were incredibly cringey, douchey human beings.
I hope the Oilers lose. I love Maurice and the makeup of that Panthers team. |

It's true he's only 5 back of Wayne's record but Gretzky hit 47 points in only 18 games! His Oilers were too good and rarely lost games in the playoffs (plus round 1 was best of 5 back then). In his 4 Cup runs he only played in 20+ games one time. McDavid has already played 23 games.
Mario had 16g+28a in the same number of games as McDavid has now played in 91, but he was even better in 92: 16g+18a in only 15 games!
Sid goes way out of his way to welcome new guys onto the team, and all his ex teammates seem to really like him. I've seen several ex-Oilers trash McDavid once they were out of the NHL, saying he was a jerk. (Not that it really matters.) |

False. People pooped on Sid when he was young for complaining to the refs too much. |

Well, Sid definitely did complain to the refs too much in those first few seasons when he was a teenager.
Like I said, I've seen a few ex-teammates of McD trash him, but also I said it doesn't really matter. Jordan was probably a sociopath and he's the best basketball player ever. I don't really care if McD is a jerk or not, but by all accounts Sid is almost too good of a person.
If McD ends up breaking Wayne's record it'll be in 40% more games, which is why to me it's not that surprising that Wayne's record could fall. He did that in 18 games, which is insane.
There's no question McDavid is the best offensive player since Mario, but comparing his offensive stats to Gretzky or Mario is never going to be meaningful. There's just too much that's different between the their eras and this one, including the number of games being played. |

Really? Who?
Yeah that 18 games for that many points is so crazy. Even still, not many will look at that at all, only who the person with the most points in postseason ever is, for that is the record itself.

I don't remember their names. Popped up on social media as things said in podcasts, and since the machine knows I like hockey it pushes this crap on me. Who knows if it's true or just guys trying to get attention ... I don't really care.
Trudeau probably sensors things like that on Canadian internet.
The single-playoff points record though rewards not dominating so you can pick up more games. It's still super impressive of course, but since so many of the all-time great teams bulldozed their way through the playoffs, it essentially capped how many points the players could pick up. With the shorter first round and less parity, it was rare to even get to 20 games in the 80s. Also before the 80's they played fewer rounds, so nobody from before then is on any lists. |
