I think someone will take him at 9-11 or so - maybe Calgary if they miss out on Iginla? He has good size and really showed out in the playoffs. Think he has passed Catton - Buffalo probably won't take Catton because they got a similar player in Benson last year. I only saw a couple of his games and he looked to be improving quickly.
Really a mystery where guys will fall - I think CHI will get a bargain at #18. - totem
To me too, but fun to speculate!
Iginla coyld go to Montreal at #5.
I had hope poetically that he would last for the Flames, but people realize what he can do and want some of that on their team.... |

I think they are leaning Demidov. Demi is head and shoulders better than the next available forward. Levshunov is barely ahead of 3 or 4 other Defensemen |

Wow… looks like EDM is taking this to a game 7.

Levshunov may not even be best defenseman in the draft. |

Oilers have been quieting their critics in a big way right now. They've been really taking it to Florida and making their D look weak. |

That’s who I am hoping for too:
#2 - Demidov (I won’t lose sleep with they pick Levshunov)
#18 - Hage (Eiserman and Brandsagg-Nygard are good options too)
#34 - Emery (if he’s available)
#50 - Sam O’Reilly or Colton Roberts - DarthKane
Eiserman will be long gone before 18 |

If Catton is available at #15 it’s definitely worth trading up, but it might cost #50 or a future second round pick. - DarthKane

Not the question. The question is “is Demidov better than Levshunov?” It’s an obviously silly question because they play different positions. It will all come down to what the Hawks brass holds in higher regard, and what they are willing to overlook in terms of risk.
I’ll also posit that this draft pick won’t make or break the Hawks. The depth they are able to build will be the most important IMO. |

What they do after the first round will be the real impact for the team with regards to depth

I found this analysis interesting grading teams draft performance vs draft position from 2006-2020
https://medium.com/@Spike...-team-grades-f0574be153c6
Of course it shows except for Kane and Toews, the Hawks record of drafting from 2006-2020 was rather substandard.
Also shows that the best draft eligible's on draft day do not necessarily become the best pro's. - LAHawk
Wait, are you saying drafting is not an exact science? |

Wow!
Well played.
Just like this madmen's re-ascension to President, where he uinstantltly will squah his trials.
Just remember this last trial was squashed by him via his Department of Justice as a federal case. The DoJ cannot directly stop the State Level.
Or threathening the people who tried you case...

I’m also including guys they’ve already picked. I’ve vomited this so many times I’m sure I’ll get censored, but they’ve made 22 picks in the last two years, with a crap ton of those on the first three rounds. If they hit in 30% of those and add two more this year, that’s a great start. |

I will ask you, Darth Kane, if you would be a little bit, somewhat or kind of pretty much disappointed to draft the Belarusian dman because he is not reportedly a sure first pair projected NHL dman. I mean maybe we should really gamble with Demidov or gamble to a lesser extent and take Silayev. For cripes sake don’t you want someone better than Leveshunov |

Jones biggest issue is his AAV, about $2.5M too high, Nurse is just plain bad. Jones would be good on the second pair, Hawks need to find a #1 RD. |

Would love to see KD able to secure Utah #1 even if it cost S Jones and the # 18. Would then take Demidov and hope for Silayev at Utah #6 slot. |

Isn't this Stanley Cup Final why we are fans?
The ups and downs, the change in flow, the hopes that our team can chenge the dynamic?
Even the anxiety as a non player, simply a fan, and how you wear the games as your accessory between the games.
Last time a fan base got to climb this large a mountain was 1947, when seven teams were the league, including the Brooklyn Americans.
No matter who wins, this was one for the ages. |
