I get this gut feeling 2026 is going to be the year of the Penguin and they are going to get McKenna to take the reigns. |

Another thing to think about...
If they re-sign TK for 8 years and he averages 62.5 points per season, he could surpass Giroux for all time points for the franchise.
Even typing that shows how low the standards are for the team.
Edit:
On the other hand McDavid just needs 61 points to become 2nd all-time for the Oilers in scoring, behind Gretzky. |

If rumors are true that the Sens are pushing hard to get Ullmark and are willing to give up #25, sure seems they are all in to make the playoffs. In this draft which is such an unknown after Celebrini, certainly a path for Briere to get to #7. I believe it will be a pick swap and involve Laughton and other pieces involved.
And Waddell has mentioned #4 is available for the right price. Maybe Briere channeling his inner Roseman. Certainly a long shot. |

Briere's comments about prospects needing lots of time in Junior and benefitting from years in the AHL sound exactly like what Hextall used to say. |

The Rags absolutely circumvented his NTC. Looks like there were discussion between NYR and SJ. It’s not a big leap to suggest that the worst team in the league with the best waiver claim order would claim him and that the Rags knew that. That seems like a pretty aggressive move on NYRs part but as long as they played within the rules, Goodrow should be happy he’s still getting paid. Although who the heck wants to play in California with those taxes, not that NY is any better. - mikeyo27
We should do the same thing with Atkinson, put him on waivers and see if anyone will pick him up. I see no reason to buy him out, and if no one claims him he should be playing in LV until his contract expires just like peterson. Niether play should be a call up moving forward also better to give opportunities to kids who might play in the future.
Message is simple, you don't want a trade fine enjoy next year in LV.

Anyone else annoyed by all this down time for the Final? Like a week between conference Finals and the Final. Now 2 whole off days between games. This sucks. |

Actual quote from the GM about how Lappy earned the extension:
"Development is critical, where we're at. Lappy's been part of this organization, understands this organization, he understands what our fans want and need. You know, and he's been one of those guys, he was I think he was a seventh round pick... he might get mad at me if he was lower than that. But ah, you know he had to fight for everything, he earned everything throughout his career. To have a guy like that, he can walk into a room as a coach and look at someone and say, you know what, that next shot - you better get on your knees and stop it with your face, cause he's done it."

It's a NTC not a NMC. Like you said, well within the rules.

It's as if this franchise is diseased or something. They need some serious job counseling.
