caught the last 10 mins. Canada didnt touch the ball. Though they did well to not get blown out - drexel
Canada played well. Argentina are #1 in the world. Current World champ, current Copa America champ. Canada had some bonafide chances to score. Definitely need to tighten up the D. Crepeau was great stopping multiple Messi breakaways. Messi is really good. |

Canada was all over them in the first half
Should have been 2 -0 for Canada at the half |

Let me ask the Leafs nation something : If there was no salary cap, would you still want to trade Marner?
For me, the answer is no. I'd keep him, but find the right linemates to balance his play style.
Unrelated : I peeked into the Panthers thread. There are Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver fans in there chirping. Not a Leafs, Habs, or Ottawa fan to be seen. It's interesting from an anthropological perspective. It seems to be geographic. - GalacticStone
So there's about 5 people total in there?

All 5 of those guys should be targets ...hope to land 2.
But, they probably all are about to get overpaid. Who are we happiest about overpaying?
Spitballing ..if MM signs an extension soon you have to think it's something at, or close to, whatever Tree is willing to offer. |

Today's pretty light and given my adventures yesterday I'm stripping it down so I can get home, nap, and catch France-Holland.
I'm all England ...and I've been a long suffering CanMNT guy forever too.

You really think so?
Canada gave up that breakaway early and the goalie bailed them out. I would say it was almost all Argentina for the first 15/20 min and then Canada settled in.
Canada’s lack of finish is so heartbreaking to watch, they are so close but so far away.
Canada’s goalie was unreal and I was proud of Cansda’s effort against the best team in the world and thought they did the country proud.
Side note the officiating felt a bit biased to me in favour of the Champs - did you feel that way too? Lots of non-calls against Argentina and then a lesser foul called against Canada without exception.
Kona’s yellow was pure BS IMO, the foul committed just moments before against a Canadian player was much worse and didn’t even warrant a call.
Regardless I wore my Canada jersey and was proud of the effort.
Hope they can find the back of the net and maybe eke out a win vs Peru. |

My beer and sangria goggles were on pretty tight by 8pm but for me it looked like a pretty even first half. Our backline bent but didn't crack and we needed some better touch from Larin in particular.
Second half our backline cracked and more lack of finish.
All in all not too bad and gives some optimism going into games against a poor Peru team and an aging Chile. Both tough but winnable. Grab 4 points and they probably move on.

Agreed that Argentina is good and Messi is "really good". The sky is blue, too. 😉
But world soccer rankings are about as accurate and meaningful as posters on hockeybuzz who say the Leafs are legit Stanley Cup contenders. |

I agree, they came out nervous and Arg was in their end most of the time, but once Canada settled in they seemed to take over. Canada should have been up 2-0 at the half.
But much like the world cup Belgium game Arg readjusted their plan and came out and owned most of the possession.
Canada had 1 or 2 more glorious chances, but again couldnt finish.
The ref did seem totally biase as well.
Davies and david need to find the back of the net, they had some gifts but failed.
Great game though. It didnt look like the number 1 team in the world against the 48th....except in mid field passing |

To up your grilled cheese game, use better cheese and don't skimp on it.
Two thick slices of cheddar jack and one slice of provolone.
Directly into my facehole as we speak. |

I dont mess with a good thing. I use regular old crappy process slices..i dont like them otherwise, but for a grilled cheese imo they are the best.
iv experimented with lots of others and combos..but a thick slice of process just melts perfectly for a GC sammich.
