I had modest plans but ended up on a patio in Lil' Italy for the game. Great stuff ...then suddenly it's 7:30 and my wife has evening plans and Canada is coming on. Stumbled home around 11 ...I think? - The Law

Apparently we have a lot to chirp about. McDavid went a few games without scoring 9 points so he's poop and we need to stop holding the Core 4 accountable. - AdamFrench

Ok now YOU said it!
Mc David and Dry Saddle were pretty m'eh in games 1 and 2 and even 3 and that might cost the Oilers but we will see.
I don't recall anyone saying the core 4 were not to be held accountable.

I wish our superstars had played every game and been 100% for all the games. Then maybe your wish would have been granted or even exceeded.

McDavid, healthy or not, has elevated his game in the playoffs to a level we haven't seen from a Leaf since Gilmour. Obviously McDavid is well ahead of Gilmour, but let's face it - the reason everyone is so mad at THIS team is that they have more talent than any Leaf team you've ever seen. They have less work ethic and willingness to compete than most.
I think it all goes back to that same statement: You have to hate to lose more than you like to win. I'm not sure we have enough of those guys on our team.

It’s called getting ready for a failure of the leafs next season and accepting it early.
As for McDavid I don’t give a rats ass if he’s Canadian, when he’s in an Oiler’s jersey (frank) him lol |

Yes McDavid has elevated his game to an insane new level this playoff, after years of not. I am hopeful a healthy Matthews can also or Nylander or even Marner assuming he is still here.
I don't think it's insane that McDavid (being the best player in the world) did it first.
I do agree that guys like McDavid and Dry Saddle hate losing more than the superstars on the Leafs appear to hate losing and that mentality of hating to lose more than liking to win is stronger in Edmonton than Toronto. I also hope Berube and/or other changes to the Leafs can change that too and get Toronto on the path of hating to lose more than liking to win.
We will see. |

Cap keeps going up and Tavares contract is up after this year. I'm honestly fine with re-signing Marner IF he signs for like 10.5 or 11 over 8 years. Maybe even the identical deal as Nylander. He likely thinks (and would get from another team) more than that though. |
