I absolutely can. I can see a 3 way trade with Ottawa and Boston.
Ottawa - Ullmark
Boston - coots
Philly -chycrun or chabot.
Then Philly trades tk and pick 32 (with extension) to Ottawa for pick 7
Then trades laughts and pick 12 to Buffalo for pick 11
Then trades 7 and 12 or 13 to move up to 4 with Columbus and selects demidov.
Then uses whichever pick is left 12 or 13 and selects catton/helenius/eiserman
And go from there - Stayin alive
Sometime I drink and post here too š
The first two moves are great (though I donāt think you could trade Coots at this point). After that you lost me. Youāre moving up one space with Laughton? Then you have too many picks and start confusing the numbers. Iām lost šµāš« |

I honestly want to see what MTL does if Demidov and Lindstrom are both gone before 5. Will they really take Iginla or Sennecke that high? - Schmojo
So Celebrini, Demidov and Lindstrom are gone. Who is the other? Levshunov?
Then they could either add even more young defensemen in Silayev or Buium to an already deep pool of Reinbacher, Hutson, and Mailloux but my guess would be to take a real center in Berkly Catton.
Theyāre thin at center after Suzuki. Newhook improved, but heās not a slam dunk 2nd center just yet. As for Dach, we donāt know how heāll comeback after that major injury, and heās also shown to play well on the wing there.
Catton could end up centering Dach and Roy on the third line whenever he starts, or eventually take over for Newhook before too long with Gallagher and Armia.
It could also be Iginla, but doesnāt he project to be more of a wing in the NHL? Theyād take that, too, I guess. Rather have the guy who is more likely to be a center.
Iād have a hard time believing only 1 defenseman goes in the first 5 picks of this draft, but I guess you never know. Iād guess both Chicago and Anaheim pick a blue liner. |

Coots to Boston is not crazy. Boston must have the fountain of youth up there or something because players age well there and have good shelf lives. They really must have a top-tier training/medical/nutritional staff. |

I do wonder if Bonk could handle a third pair role, with PP time should he earn it out of camp. - roenick97
What do the Flyers have to lose by giving Bonk a chance in the bumper position on the PP. itās not like it could be worse than this year. Maybe he has a unique skill set that would translate well. |

Why does Philly need a not so good defensively dman who only played one full season in the 9 nhl seasons heās been a pro. We already have one of those guys. |

Sorry disagree..dumb on Flyers that they didnt sign him to the ELC and play him those few games after his freshman season. What did they have to lose. Doubt they make that mistake again. That move really hurt the Flyers in a big way.
- hfc355
Donāt have to be sorry to disagree, we all have our opinions. But to be clear, the Flyers DID want to sign Gauthier to an ELC after his first college season and he refused because he wanted a guaranteed roster spot. No team, no matter how good or how bad they are should agree to this. Itās about creating a culture of competition and winning. Any player worth his salt would welcome the battle for a roster spot. What we are seeing IMO is the US development program is full of a lot of spoiled and entitled kids, and itās not a good look. |

Thatās what Iām thinking. Heās just not worth it. Also, our centre depth is not great already. Trading coots doesnāt help that. As well, Iām pretty sure he has a NMC.
Iād be all for moving Laughton RR TK for a good return. (Not just to move up in a weak draft). I think DB has something cooking with Ottawa from all reports so letās hope itās true and he gets some close to nhl or in nhl young players.
I wonder when the MM news will be announced? |

I agree. Iāll go even further. I am a fan of Konecny. But I ask the questionā¦..if the Flyers are 3 years away from the goal of being a contender how does that fit with Konecny? I would assume his next 4 years he will give the Flyers bang for their buck, as Konecny is entering his prime yearsā¦.so they get their moneys worth when his production will not really do much except maybe make the Flyers a bit betterā¦itās the last 5 years of an extension where by the problem starts. Will Konecny be a 9 million dollar player in 4-5 years from now as he heads into his 30ās?
Does that make sense to sign a guy ā¦.a winger no less to that contract, to a deal that more or less will be an over pay and a anchor of a contract 4-5 years from now after his prime years have passed, when they will probably need the cap space for others that are more important to the over all team at that time? - landros 2
Now with Michkov coming this season, itās a necessity IMO to extend TK. The timeframe has drastically moved up. We should not get bogged down by the AAV, itās all about the percentage of the cap and since the cap is going up now, his percentage will drop over time from say 12% to 7%, thus the contract becomes more flexible. I move TK only if he wants over 10M because that would be plain stupid. In the end I think TK signs for 7 years and $9.25M which I can live with. The Flyers have other options to free up cap space by trading veteran players like Laughton, Farabee and Risto. |

Couts to Boston would make sense but if in the Flyers I want the 7th pick, not Chichryn. I donāt honestly understand the fascination for this guy, he is not that good and takes stupid penalty after stupid penalty, plus has a history of injuries. Just get the pick, the Flyers donāt need that player right now. |

As usual, you are incorrect. The Flyers did not want to sign Gauthier to an ELC after his first college season. They wanted him to return to college for another season. Here you are with the BS buzzwords such as culture which shows how you have been brainwashed as a fan by the Flyers. You are one of their target fans. It has nothing to do with spoiled or entitled kids. It is common practice for teams to sign players at the end and have the first year of their ELC burned. It's not about entitlement. It's about getting to the 2nd contract level sooner. It's business. Other NHL teams do it because it is good business. The Flyers balked because they're incompetent.

I don't think they are there yet. We need some centre help and a #1 Dman. I am hoping we can get one of those two in this draft but development would be a couple years out at best. As excited as I am for MM to get here, there will be an adjustment and we have to temper our expectations/be patient. Look at Lafreniere in NYR. He is just now coming into his own and it took a few years. Rangers handled that properly and he wasn't the main guy with all the pressure of the world on him like MM will be here. Unfortunately, in Philly he might get thrown under the bus if he doesn't dominate right away... which he won't,
I am hoping that DB has a larger trade brewing to land us a centre and if TK is part of that, so be it. This is the time of the year that the true team building happens with the draft etc...not in UFA anymore. The big trades tend to go down at this point and I can't wait to see what happens. So far, DB has made some good choices (looks like selecting MM when others passed is going to work out). |

Michkov coming over does not drastically move up the time frame for the Flyers to contend. They're still 5+ years away. Most likely closer to 10 years away if at all. It is imperative for the Flyers to trade Konecny. It's not surprising how you have waffled and flip flopped over the signing of Konecny. Saying numerous times that there was no way you would pay him 9M a year. You wanted to sign him for 7.5M. Now you think they can sign him for 7 years after recently stating that you think he will get a max term deal. Most likely you read something or heard something said on the radio. Due to you are incapable of accurately forming your own opinion or reading a situation correctly.

Contradicting yourself. First its the timeline has been drastically sped up. Now its they don't need the player right now and should get the pick. Your opinions are in conflict with one another. If they need the pick more, than that points to trading Konecny. Not re-signing him

many believe that boston is well run organization. so why on earth would a well run organization want to acquire ex selke at this time? just wishful thinking by some flyers fans.
also cracks me up how peeps will defend the flyers organization no matter what. they screwed up the cutter situation. if they didn't they could now have both cutter and MM in the lineup for the 24-25 season.
all they had to do was let him play in a few meaningless games that pretty much all teams do with there picks. not the gold standard however. |

I do notā¦and I have explained why. Itās not about the next 3-4 years. Those are the years where the Flyers will probably get the best results (health being the equalizer)ā¦it about the long term and the future assets he could bring in today.
I mean the whole ārebuildā term is seen as something different by every team thatās ever attempted one. Iām starting to think this is DBās versionā¦.use 3 drafts in a row to stock pile 6 1rst round picks while they still attempt to build within. The whole āTough decisions, fans arenāt going to likeā was always BS.
It not the first time Iāve disagreed with the teams path in the last 10 years. |

when you going to get it through your thick head he is getting 8 years. When you also going to understand RR has zero trade value. none. nada. zip.

I dont think any really knows as this management style is a collaborative effort.
sadly Danny boys vision seems to be that of "jonesy" and torts. I think danny is more of a puppet than a real gm at this time.
he hasnt had to make any hard decisions as of yet. all that he has done has been easy for the most part. |
