Hoping Helenius plays in Rochester next year.
Seems like 1 year in Rochester then the sabres would be the best path for him. |

One of the second and a third for McGroaty
Use the other to draft Elick
Sign Stammer and Kane.
Profit
Wakes up, instead drafts the 2nd Euro goalie, a tiny winger, and had conversations. Other GMs roll their eyes. Sad Panda indeed |

The second round of the draft starts in less than 2 hours.
Adams gonna make both picks? Probably because he is incapable of closing a deal. |

i'm all for this, but:
[quote=SDSabre]One of the second and a third for McGroaty - works for me, and it seems to be what they're asking for
Use the other to draft Elick - all for it but no way he's lasting to 42. He's big, mean and RHD. If we want him, we'd have to package picks and move up to the top of the 2nd
Sign Stammer and Kane. All for it, but, have a feeling both have no interest in Buffalo (why would they?). I could see both ending up in Detroit

I need him to trade at least one for a player, I'd prefer both, but I'd also like to watch an alternative reality where he makes both picks just for fan reaction.

I could see him falling to the 10th pick. There’s a lot of guys ranked higher by some outlets. He’s in that 7-13 range for the second round for most. He may also be the first one selected. We’ll see. |

Skinners getting bought out but why announce it before you have to (tomorrow). KA is probably unhappy it was leaked but I’m sure skinners camp leaked it when KA asked him to waive his NMC - turbo044
My point is
1 GM has a plan.
The other gm said well idkkkkk.
I get that the skinner buyout is coming. What Adams didn’t do is assure me he knows what he’s doing |

Based on his garbage excuses 2 days ago on Sabres live and last night
I give 95% chance that Adams drafting both 2nds |

He traded 11 for 14 to reduce the chances of a player being there that someone else would want to make a trade for |

Adams to this point has really backed himself into an excuse corner.
Either
A) he’s terrible at the actual job of building an NHL roster and doesn’t understand trade values and can’t get things done
B) he actually hasn’t drafted well and nobody values the prospects in which his draft and develop strategy would be no good
He needs to change the narrative and get poop done. |

That I disagree with. I think Adams and draft analyst weren’t wrong. NHL drafts outside the top 2 to top 5 picks in strong drafts. Are a crapshoot. |

I agree. I still think he's in way over his head, but this is what you get when you have an owner who runs his team on the cheap and won't go outside the safety of his bubble to hire someone with experience and competence.

Pegula is willing to spend. That isn’t an issue
It’s Adams pulling the trigger. It’s crazy to me that the Sabres have like 1 GM and 4 assistant GMs and not 1 of the 4 assistant GMs can step up and say “hey we should accept this” |

I would still pursue McGroarty and see if Winnegeg has come off their initial asking price for him. Everything I was reading up until the draft was the Jets wanted a 1,2,and 3 for him… which seems high. I would have easily used our 14 pick plus whatever else was needed… within reason |
