I would still pursue McGroarty and see if Winnegeg has come off their initial asking price for him. Everything I was reading up until the draft was the Jets wanted a 1,2,and 3 for him… which seems high. I would have easily used our 14 pick plus whatever else was needed… within reason

Just like how picks 6-10 were available and how the Devils and Sabres had their picks on the table for Necas and yada yada yada only for the sole trade involving a player yesterday was Texier to St Louis.

NHL GMs are all awful. They need new blood in the worst way. Every other league has figured it out. Except this one.

not a single trade block player was worth a first round pick last night. Either the player wasn't worth the first (top 18?) or the first wasn't worth the player (20+?)

This shows a depressed value in short term UFA (Konecny/Ehlers) and expensive RFA (Necas) trade values when it comes to financial commitments.

Detroit is spending net 2 million (Trouba retained minus Walman) and I'm real curious if the Rags even get a 4th.

Because Trouba's position is more valuable. Despite the fact that Trouba damaged his team significantly more than Skinner did this year on a per minute basis.
