I think the point is that this place can be nauseating because so little happens when the season is over. People go apesh** over every little move that was made by other teams. It isn't necessarily about whether they are right or wrong - it is the obsessiveness that because tiring. We get it, you don't like Adams and we haven't made the playoffs in a long time.

The only thing I care about is if adams can do what he speaks of this offseason. Time is ticking and fast

At a high level, I was on board with draft and develop. I think that part of it has actually gone really well. But he has been patient to a fault, and even people like me acknowledged this last offseason:

- Too slow to fire Ralph
- Didn't get D help two years ago as the season was falling apart
- Botched the bottom 5 forwards last offseason (too loyal to mediocre vets)
- Didn't move on from Meatballs soon enough

I think he will become a good GM has he has made good hockey decisions. Its just that he neglected parts of his roster. Unfortunately that comes with being a rookie GM, I think.

It will also be interesting to see what this team does under a new coach. How much of the above was made worse by a mediocre coach?

Absolutely. And Pegula hired them. The root of all of this is him and his inability to have a proper hockey department. Worse, he apparently dictates some player moves.

we live in an era where 25% of the best players have some sort of no trade clauses. Those are usually the players who are worth a damn, you know the ones that actually move the needle for a team. Now how many of those 25% have Buffalo as a team that they will not be traded to? My Guess ALL OF THEM. that kinda handcuffs GMKA trying to make a blockbuster trade for an actual good player.

You're absolutely right, and I think he gets that. If he falls on his face, I'll be right there with the rest of everyone. I still think he gets it right. Despite how many portray him here, I think he is a smart guy. Again, he completely erred by being so passive, but that is a hell of a lot easier to fix than if he was a Chiarelli clone.

NJ signed DeSimone, so they're clear to trade Marino now.
