It depends on what version of Tage you think you have. If memory serves me, his defense was actually pretty good last year. If you can get a guy that scores 40 goals and plays respectable D, what more do you want out of a top C? Auston Mathews called him the most underrated player in the league 2 years ago. He may not be a 47 goal scorer, but I still think he is much more than last year (and we saw it at the end of the year).

I think Peterka and Tuch are 35 goal guys. What more do you want?

You want a Tage who is going to be more like a cross between Vanek and Hecht? Boy I wish.

He's realistically a 60-70 point guy. I think he came back down to Earth a little last year. I hope he is a .ppg player but yeah, highly doubtful.

A 60-70 point guy? The dude was playing with a busted wrist for much of last year and put up those numbers. The defensive metrics I am thinking of were in comparison to Cozens, who was provably bad at both ends last year.

102 games in 2 seasons, 75 games in 1st season.
Disappointing in his second season after returning from a torn Achilles and looking strong, he suffered another injury. Tough year for the kid.

A "plan"? No. I don't expect neither him nor Tage to be what they were playing fire wagon hockey 2 years ago, but I don't expect last year either. If healthy, I like Tage at 40 goals and 80 - 90 points. I like Peterka and 35 on that line. If those two things happen, wouldn't Tuch score 30 - 35? He doesn't "need" to score 35, he just needs to do the things that he does well. That line blew up when Tage got healthy and Peterka was swapped in for Jeffy.

Absolutely. That is also why I don't get hung up on offensive numbers like that. Team defense is what turned Edmonton's season around, and it is the reason that Florida won last night. And it is why Jeffy needs to go.

I will say from what I was told, he is trying and more aggressive then he has been in the past. Don't know if anything works out, but will see. Think his slow play plan hurt his chances at this point.

I don't think people are appreciating how paper thin the Sabres center depth is.

Yeah, I really don't tbh. Tage, Cozens, Krebs, Kulich and 1 13F that can take draws is all I really need.

You have Ostlund and Savoie coming soon. I think our depth is fine there, I'm more worried about RW.

Well if Cozens is producing similar or just below with his Wingers helping, I think you can. Hope Kulich hits and the Sabres could put Snipers on all 3 lines in the Top 9
