But that's the thing - 10 other teams would also pay, if not more. And they'd all have to make up for the lack of a florida state income tax. I get wanting to play for Yzerman, but that team isn't close to competing for a cup. If he were going to leave Tampa, I would assume that it would be to chase a ring.

I just don't get the allure of everyone saying the same thing over and over and over. We get it, he messed up last year. This is a new offseason. If it looks like last year, then by all means kill him. But jesus, it hasn't even started yet. People are talking and a couple of minor moves have been made.

but you guys said he wasn't done July 2nd and there was no chance this team went backwards in 2023-24
he has done nothing to get the benefit of the doubt to this point in his tenure

No, no, this isn't about last season. It's about 13 years of losing. As is obvious, we have a TON of work to do this offseason and other teams are getting the jump.
I'm not kidding at all, I would be happier if we overpaid for a good player already. Pay more. It literally doesn't matter at this point if we don't make the playoffs, trade our next decade of 1sts for all I care.
