Chad D seems to think something is brewing with the Caps.

Strome?

- QuinnFan

He said it wasn't Strome.

I think it's probably Jensen or Van Riemsdyk. Makes more sense from the Caps side.

“Peyton Krebs was the key piece is acquiring Eichel”

Prospects become suspects very quickly.

Trade them while value is high.

Trading all your prospects is a path to mediocrity, unless your core is loaded with stars.

Given his regression this year and poor playoff play...were they right?

Fwiw, I wanted to keep him. We'd invested the time and thought him/UPL would be a quality tandem.

- QuinnFan

I absolutely wanted to keep him, but I get why Adams didn't. I believe he told Adams 6x6 to stay here, and that is a ton for a guy that was still fairly unproven.

For the record, I don't think he played bad in the playoffs. Swayman was just better.

…..so is hoarding prospects.

Identify your key ones, trade the others.

Meh, must've missed it. That makes better sense, don't know why they'd acquire PLD to move him down to where he should be, only to trade him. Jensen I've liked in the past, does TVR have anything left in the tank? .

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case tbh, rumors besides.

But a 3.9GAA and .886sv% is pretty rough for him. He did look pretty shakey. I'm good with UPL/Levi from here on out either way. Where you at on Levi?

Yup, all signs point to Joker getting traded, and quite possibly Johnson. An experienced RD would fit nicely.

Washington signed Bear, has a surplus and needs some cap space.

1. Nobody said this. He was one of the pieces. I think they may have even preferred on of the other prospects such as Brisson.
2. Trade all prospects when value is high? Really?

That isn't what was reported at the time, and what Adams himself said. Anyway, as with so many other players not named Reinhart, the revisionist history around here never ceases to amaze. Ullmark was FAR from a sure thing at the time. The vast majority here were fine with him walking at the time because of injury history and sporadic play.
- Slump Buster

Yeah I'm not revising anything myself. I was irritated. Also I appear to be a Krebs>Rossi fan

As far as the Eichel return goes, Krebs is the key piece, a 20-year-old centre who led the WHL with 30 assists in 24 games last season.

C'mon, nobody says that this was the Peyton Krebs trade. He was a nice piece at the time as he was taken in the middle of the first round. If we trade Cozens and Rosen in the same trade, is someone going to refer to Rosen as the key piece? No, of course not.

Bro, read the quote from Kevyn.

This isn't about what we refer the trade. As long as we're not moving goal posts, this response is based on "Krebs was a critical piece".

As so forth, it says.

Kevyn Adams would, since he already did.

'a critical piece" is different than "the critical piece". That's the point, isn't it?

anyway... not sure how we got here.
