What's for lunch, Kevyn?
That's a great question and we're having a lot of productive, honest conversations about that. Terry and I will sit down and talk about what we think is best not just for lunch, but what will make good leftovers for tonight? So we're working through that process right now |

“No final decision on skinner”
If you have a team that wants him via trade. Fine.
But the fact that you said no final decision has been made.
What have you been doing for 15 + weeks - Sabretooth9
He's telling you he's taking it to the wire in trying to trade and retain instead of BO.

I have yet to see why they should buy him out this week vs next year |

I assume it's advantageous to wait a year to buyout skinner correct? If we aren't spending to cap anyway throw him in the press box as as 13th forward. Good depth guy for an injury. Buy him out next year then |

Hypothetically let’s say it’s for Necas.
If the trade is Ryan Johnson + 11th and Adams is being a richard because they want a C level prospect also.

Why would he confirm it when the final decision isn't due until Sunday and the better option is to trade him, if at all possible. Why lose any possible trade leverage by saying you're buying him out? |

Yeah, I mean Skinner on the 3rd line is a big negative to me. When someone asked what he'd produce there I came up with 20 points. I don't think he's able to do anything alone, he can become a superstar from the hashmarks in, with a perfect pass. I'm not sure getting rid of him and adding Necas in the place isn't $10-15M in difference. That $15M figure only being for 1 year I mean.
But I digress, I'm more wondering why you think the Sabres are after Necas in the first place given that he isn't a sure fire "Lindy Guy". Is it just a lack of options? - QuinnFan
I'm not sure how accurate the reports of him as a primary target by the Sabres is,, TBH, but it's been brought up enough that Adams probably has had conversations.
My issue isn't with Necas', rather the scenario if BO a guy who pots 50-75 points and is defensively inferior with a guy who has the same red flags. If Lindy can't fix Skinner, why can he fix Necas'. If Skinner isn't a Lindy Guy, why is Necas'? If the Sabres need goal scoring why cut the guy who scores more normally than his replacement. If they Don't buyout Skinner, does he infact move to 3rd line? None of it makes sense to me.
Yes, I suspect options are tough.
Until someone can tell me with facts why Necas' is a better fit for L1 than Skinner on L1 U don't buy in.
BO of Skinner w/ Necas' replacement Contract is likely to cost more for longer than just keeping Skinner, it will be in every year of the 6 year BO. |

I think the reason would be to make a move now instead of waiting and potentially having another team swoop in. That being said, if no deal is in place, you're right. Say you're trading him until that absolute last moment. |

“We have a plan” would be the better terminology instead of “no final decision”
No final decision sounds like he isn’t prepared. |

Fair enough. Can't really answer a ton of that obviously, but I do think that Skinner has no business in the top6 anymore. I think his production with Krebs/Greenway was about 14g and 6a if he played 82 games. I definitely get the stuff about the cost, but probably just think it's a bigger upgrade than you do but it's hard to argue with the L1 line. I'm not sure what Necas would put up and no one would until he skates. |
