Honestly, why do you care so much about their draft position at this point? The NHL team is all that matters next year.

There are a number of reasons to do this trade. Maybe another team wants a first and a second for their player. Maybe they are using a second to get rid of your boy. Let's see what happens.

that's how most teams are when they are lottery bound
