i only watched 3 of the finals games, but Draisidlele didnt stand out at all. for a top player...he seemed to Mitch it up - senstroll
Pretty sure he died in the Dallas series and unlike last year when he only died on his one foot and could still shoot, it'll end up being something mid-body. |

The man looked completely broken. I'd be shocked to learn he wasn't gravely injured. - Scabeh
could be. then id give a pass
winning a cup is extremely difficult and you need a lot of luck and to avoid injuries

another wasted season

Today, the Blue Jays' playoff odds per FanGraphs are 3.6%. They started the season at 49%, plummeting 45.4% since Opening Day. That's the largest drop from pre-season playoff odds across MLB. |

What's the longest streak without winning a best-of-seven playoff series in pro sports? The Jays must be right up there now. |

I don't know.
They got a 1st, a cost controlled 4th liner and their new backup for their backup who is a UFA next year and will want a raise they can't afford with Swayman getting a 4-5mil deal if not 7 longer term. They could have tried to sell high last year, but missed the boat. Goalies don't go for much even though they are always the most needed commodity. |

The Cup can only be returned to its rightful spiritual home by the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's like Thor's hammer. The other Canadian teams can't do it. But next season the prophecy will be fulfilled. |

Unless they all internally expected this team to be this bad, it's insane that no one has been fired at all anywhere. They went from courting and pretending they were going to land Ohtani to landing no one (Oh, I'm sorry - 39 year old Justin Turner and his pedestrian 106 OPS+ would like a word from atop his stack of 13 million dollars) and leaving all of last year's weaknesses exposed with all the same management and coaching in place that caused last year's problems.
I can't begin to fathom how badly Atkins has screwed the pooch on this team nor how poorly Shapiro has done in sitting there quietly letting it happen. Shapiro took seats out of the Rogers Centre reducing revenue for a team that was supposed to be exciting and draw fans to the stadium and instead of of a mausoleum of disappointment. I know that I'm not alone among my friends - I don't even put the game on TV anymore.
My wife thinks Atkins and Shapiro are great. Now that hockey's done for 3 months I have to do stuff around the house!

So the Leafs will return the cup to Montreal?
- Scabeh
If we win the cup, the parade will definitely go through there. We'll celebrate like it's a religious pilgrimage. By hour 60 a haggard Nylander will be heard to mutter, "For mercy's sake, stop! We need water and sleep! I think John is dead," and the Leafs' faithful will bark at him, "You'll get rest when we're done!" and continue the parade.

Either way both GMs feel good about the deal. So it’s likely an advantage to what they’re trying to accomplish…. And who knows what that is |

You'd imagine the Bruins will use the pick to try to get a forward to offset DeBrusk leaving. |

The previous jays manager got fired when he had a better mid season record than Schneider currently has.
Analytics killed the jays like it did the leafs. |
