When are you going to think about what you're saying. This rebuild is going to take over 5 years, even if they approach it the correct way. Which is unlikely. Which means it's going to take even longer. The'll improve enough to get clueless fans such as yourself on board but not enough to actually be a legit contender. They'll also get lower draft picks and never actually get to add the elite talent they need. Using free agency and trying to make to trades, putting them in the same endless circle of mediocrity that they've been in for over a decade. Think about what you're saying, which you obviously didn't. The way to sorround Michkov with real talent is to trade Konency. - MJL
I simply don’t agree with you. It’s not going to take 5 years, and if the Flyers trade TK now they are not going to get the best return because he is due a big contract, and whatever they get back will take time to develop and then might not be as good as they hoped. I have given this a lot of thought, if you disagree do be it |

First it does not have to be an 8 year deal, second with Michkov here there Flyers will be instantly better and thus TK clearly fits the timeframe to contend. TK will get extended. The cap is going up, don’t worry about the money. - jd250
The cap went up this year, but there is no guarantee that it will continue to do so. There could be another pandemic or the U.S. economy could go into a deep recession or there could be a major war.
Teams were handing out fat 8 year deals in 2018 & 19 thinking the cap would go up every season, how did that work out for them? |

You are a stooge.
-Any deal with Konecny will be 8 years. This is his last big pay day.
-Yes they could be better, but what does that do? They are not a legit playoff or cup contender.
-Yes that cap goes up. That doesn't mean i need to give out bad contracts. Michkov is not going to get a bridge deal after his ELC. Why tie up money in an ageing vet who I don't think is going to be much better then he is. Save the money and use it on players I think will be part of the future.

Heard a contract with Michkov will not be an issue, but the Visa will take some time. I say just bring Michkov over through the southern border like everyone else, bypass the process, and be here for development camp. - jd250
ELC are never an issue. |

in what wprld is tk not tkaing 8 years? can you give a rationale reason why he would do that? lay it out.
when do you anticipate the flyers making the playoffs then to be legit contenders? |

You can keep pretending that it won't be an 8 year deal all you want. That's just fantasy on your part. It doesn't fit the timeline to contend. The Flyers need a 1D and 1C at the very least. Konecny and Michkov doesn't get the Flyers close to contending. When they improve and are drafting middle of the pack or later, the odds of then drafting a 1C or 1D go way down. You're also wrong in not being concerned about the cap. Being ignorant in not realizing that the Flyers are going to spend, spend, spend.

I agree it might not take 5 years… but from a time line perspective I think you’d agree that Konecny’s best hockey will probably come in the next 3-4 years…he’s in his prime right now. There are teams that would offer up enough incentive with futures, to really make it the right course of action. I agree they need to now focus on adding young talent to surround Michkov with….How do you get that? One way is to move older talent and build this thing properly. To me the timing is perfect….it one of those “tough decisions” we keep hearing about.
Now do I think DB will do it? No…I don’t. |

In your entire posting history, you have never been right in accurately assessing the Flyers position or future outlook. You're not capable of giving it thought. Enough said |

It will be interesting to see how this plays out IMO. If TK is dealt, I would want to allow him to negotiate an extension with the team he's going to IOT get full value. It'd be interesting to see him as part of a larger trade with say some combination Laughton, Frost or Bee so we can get some prime NHL close prospects. What I don't want to happen is for him to be extended with any NMC. We want to be able to move that contract if they do re sign him. |

Sure, let’s trade TK and set the rebuild back another 5 years, and then let’s see Michkov demand a trade because the team sucks so bad. Think about what you saying. Michkov is coming, the Flyers need to surround him with real talent, which is what TK is and the Flyers don’t have much of, not scrubs! - jd250
laughable that you think trading a second line winger would set things back by 5 years. |

TK is good, not great. You don’t commit 9M a year to a winger when you don’t have a goalie, center, or D. |

Why can you not accept facts that it will be a 8 year deal at at least $72 million.... |

He is getting some sort of no trade protection. He will want any say if they try to move him if he were to extend here.
That is also why I want nothing to do with a Konecny extension.

Knoblach played the crap out of the first line in the third. To be honest they looked spent the last few minutes. It’s not that McDavid didn’t show up it’s that Florida swarmed him when he had the puck.
Edmontons lack of depth finally let them down. |
