I was thinking about this though, he still has a NMC until Monday, and then Monday he has got to give a list of 15 teams he would approve a trade to
he could very well list the 15 most likely teams when looking at cap space, need, etc and make it difficult
he could very well be reading our blog right now and plan on blocking all the teams we mention - jimbro83
If he is moved I am making Trocheck captain. Then when his contract is up in 5 years would set up nicely for someone like laf |

I pray that we don’t create a RD problem by trying to solve the RW problem. That’s why having a strong farm system is so important. - Bean_Dip
I hear that. But one has to believe a 4-6 RD man is easier to find and replace than a legitimate top 6 scoring RW

If Trouba read this blog, he'd make another anti bullying post on Twitter
Makes sense about the NMC thing though. I doubt he is looking at cap space but what do I know. If I had to bet it's bottom feeder teams and Canadian teams. Hopefully Detroit wants their hometown bruiser - NYR11
what's good in a small way about Trouba's attractiveness as a trade is that he only makes 6 mil in cash each of his last two seasons with the 8 mil cap hit, because it was front loaded

I feel like there are enough RD out there for our 3rd pair that it shouldnt be a concern. Hell man, throw ANA a bone and get them to eat 50% of Gudas for the next 2 seasons. $2m on our 3rd pair and all of the worry about the "toughness" lost from trouba is erased |

Absolutely should be Trocheck. It SHOULD have been Kreider at the time but after last season I think Trocheck is exactly who we need as captain. |

pretty good comp - jimbro83
Yeah, not bad. I feel like Trouba is definitely better defensively than Dion ever was. Even if he's declining.
I have been a Trouba supporter since he got here, but the price was high to start and now is untenable. Hope this goes the way it appears to be!
Also, the more I look at their style of play and last contracts, I think we really need to take a good look at Bertuzzi or Domi. In that order. |

Was mentioned yesterday. Thank God.
I'd love to see a Trouba trade today. Freeing up $8M would be incredible. I was in favor of bringing Trouba back, but if we could replace him with a cheaper 3rd D option and spend that money on a much needed top 6 winger, they have to do it - NYR11
Been waiting for this for 3 years. It’s nice to be right for a long time |

He’s probably our worst defensemen in his own zone. He really was brought here for the PP and it never worked out how they envisioned. He’s exposed against teams top 6 players bc of bad foot speed, gap control and decision making. He’ll be serviceable on someone else’s 3rd pair. Not a cup contender

That is definitely a positive.
I think there are a good number of teams that would want Trouba. Especially if we are willing to retain a milly or two. Brings his cost down significantly and adds tons of leadership and snarl to any team he joins. Would be a great addition for a young team on the cusp of the playoffs (cough, DETROIT, cough)
