Great point. The Rags were so stupid for signing Adam Fox.

It would cost assets (EF even suggested a first round pick could be acquired by the Jets). Count me out - not a risk I’m willing to take. Plenty of other players to choose from. Why would I give them a late first or more for that? DB wouldn’t put himself in a position to get embarrassed like that twice - anti-lame
No kidding it will cost. To think otherwise is dumb. |

It’s the only team he wanted to play for. Are you dense?
Do you think the Flyers are the only team he wants to play for 😂 I’m staying away from him. |

No team will trade for him without knowing he will sign there. Just like the Ducks with Gauthier. |

So I’m not spending those assets on a guy who insists on controlling his destiny so early. I’d be curious to hear who actually thinks this would be a good use of assets short of him saying he only wants to play in Philly… fat chance. |

There were also reportedly a handful of GMs that weren’t interested in Cutter because he “exercised his rights”..

Yeah put me down for targeting McThroaty as nonsense.
I don’t even care that he’s Cutter’s friend. Flyers will have no interest in a guy that just pulled the same poop on another franchise. Gauither is the better player anyway. If Flyers weren’t going to let Cutter play they’re gonna let this kid? |

How miserable do the Sens and Bruins GMs have to be to pull off a trade during a SCF Game 7 last night |

If this McScroaty kid is really a 6’1” 205 lb 20 year old with the real potential of being a 1C, and you’re convinced you can sign him, you make the trade. You acquire him and bring him in. The Flyers can promise him his ELC and a legit chance at playing center for a bottom dweller in a rebuild. Big solid 1Cs aren’t easy to get. Anaheim doesn’t seem to have any issues with Quitter. So I say GMDB needs to do his due diligence and if the kid is a fit you pull the trigger. Period.
Edit: I know nothing about this player other than he’s a big body with good reviews of his abilities. Never watched him. |

want to make this very simple for the very small minded. I don't think Torts is a "dictator" or "running the show, leaving Danny B to be a puppet. I do however believe Torts has input. I think veteran coaches with a winning track record should have input on their teams. Training camp. Sure the GM's have the final say in terms of making the numbers work but coaches clearly have a say in terms of who stays or who gets cut. Why wouldn't this the case in terms of making trades of what's working on the team? I sure hope Jon Cooper has some say in Tampa because they have a good thing rolling there.
Denis Gurianov for example, doesn't scream "Torts is in charge here!" Not because he's Russian but because he isn't any good. |

McRottenCrotch would look nice on the Phantoms. Flavor of the week because the news came out, don't care about the reasons why he's available, but as a player not going to be a 1C. Would look nice on the 3rd line though.

For his career, Torts has a track record of 742 wins, 612 losses, 37 ties and 156 overtime/shootout losses. That's 26 more losses than wins.
So why does a 66 year old coach with a losing record get so much input on a team that claims to be rebuilding? |

Define “so much”?
How can you be sure Danny and Jonesy don’t agree?
Paul Maurice also has a losing record. And a lower win percentage. With 300 more games coached. Both have 1 cup. He probably sucks too, huh? Is he allowed a say? |

amazes me the mouth breathers that really think he doesn't have the majority say when to comes to things done at the nhl level |

It’s simple. He’s coached teams less embarrassing than ours.
Yet another example of Comcast settling for mediocrity because they’re scared poopless of empty seats. Its that mindset that drives everything with this franchise.
They want yes men over anyone with their own ideas. They got their yes men. Zito got his cup. |

that comes out to what? A .48 win percentage. Torts is not even in the top 100 of coaches in Win % if you look historically. He has coached a lot of lousy years in the NHL.

I would offer the Jets(if sanheim agrees to the move)
Sanheim for MCgoarty(sp).
Idea is we get rid of a long term contract we don't need for a young center prospect. I think the way we are currently built we could guarantee him spot on the Flyers. |

No thanks. I will stick with Sanheim. That is a major overpay for an unknown. Sanheim is not overpaid. He is slotted incorrectly b/c the lack of depth.

My expectations knowing how this franchise operates and never fundamentally changes is this:
TK is resigned. I know, it makes no sense. I agree. But “he’s a Flyer” is all it takes in this city.
Flyers move up a few spots and grab Tij. They’ll sell name recognition hard and push the kid back to playing Center despite him being better suited on the wing.
The Panthers pick gets traded for a bridge Center. I’m not saying it will be Giroux but it wouldn’t shock me one bit. Whatever way he feels about the organization comes 2nd to his close ties to Briere. If not him some other vet they can use for a couple years while they draft and develop the position. |
