It was on a Spittin Chiclets podcast. I listened to it and it was absolutely nothing but joking around and bullsheeting with the boys. It was funny and seemed like a nothing burger that was way overblown.

You’ve got to admit it was pretty stupid of JR to say all that crude stuff on Spittin’ Chiclets. It wasn't criminal but it sure was stupid. I don’t know if he had been drinking and just got a little too comfortable or what, but he’s got to know that stuff like that wouldn’t go over very well with a national network like NBC. It’s pretty basic stuff. If you want to be a national broadcaster don’t talk about wanting to (frank) your cohost (and how great she, or he, looks in a bikini) on a very popular podcast. I’m not easily offended and I don’t think people should lose their job over saying dumb stuff, but I can understand NBC feeling they had to let him go. To me an on air apology would have been good enough. Maybe he just wasn’t well liked enough around there for them to give him a second chance? I loved him as a player.

Marner has a NMC and will be in last year of his deal. I would think he is going to want the promise of an extension and some say where he is going.

Only thing I can think is a 3 team trade. Utah sends picks and prospects for Marner and then Toronto uses the picks and prospects to acquire immediate help from another team.
