How likely in today's NHL is it for the Leafs to get a top 5 NHL defenseman and a 50 goal power forward back in return? I don't see NJ trading Hughes or Nemec. I don't see Toronto wanting Hamilton. Your suggestion illustrates the issue. The Leafs being able to find a return that justifies moving Marner is going to be very difficult. Not impossible but difficult. Desjardins was not a top 5 defenseman and LeClair was not a 50 goal scorer when they were acquired. The Leafs will have to evaluate properly and acquire players who will make a jump in their development. I never said it was easy.

No trades, DB will either not like what he has to give up or what he will get in return.

They will have to buy out Atkinson to make room for MM.

If Brink is truly ready to be a starter in the NHL, laughton will have to play on the 4th line and ND will ride the pine.

Zamula will get a 3 to 5 year contract.

TK will get an extension, just not sure if it is with the flyers

You're totally wrong. No player would give an approval to waive his NTC without knowing what the deal was and to where. So yes, the first step is, if a team wants to trade a player with a NTC, to put a trade together and THEN ask the player if he is willing to waive. You're a clueless fool as usual.
