Talk about screw ups… let me tell you about a guy named Connor Murphy. Guy shows up, takes the place of a great defender, and we proceed to have one of the worst seven year stretches in franchise history.
Every year he packs his golf clubs and Superman spandex to go play for USA in the World Cup of Nothing games. He displays ‘great leadership’ while leading the team with zero points and a minus four rating.
He gets an A on his chest for the spandex, and his nhl squad doesn’t sniff relevance until he’s finally gone. - ObeseOprah
Yup, its all his fault. |

I think it is bizarre also, what Chicago sources could Upshall have, he played with the Flyers and Nashville.

JR's wife was in town that night and Tony Amonte with wife & JR with wife were supposed to go out together after the game. In the hall outside the locker rooms after the game JR's wife was livid with him. As a result of that incident those two guys were nowhere near as close as they were before that. I'm not sure if they ever got close again. If it wasn't for hockey JR would probably be driving a garbage truck. - 6628

Same with Waddell before Columbus hired him. Rumors of waddle coming to Chicago were false also. |

Nope you were pretty thorough but there are only two teams/sports I follow in your list...Bears and Blackhawks and in my world both look like they're in for better days.
Low bar but I'm not interested in dwelling in where they are but quite possibly where they are headed.

In other news, 2 of the CA teams are doing some re-branding (Kings and Ducks). Wish the Kings would go back the classic Forum Blue jerseys and call it a day. |

Upshall is from Fort McMurray, Alberta where everybody knows something and somebody attached to the Oilers.
Holland could be bringing McDavid with him to Chicago. Giddyup for that ride. |

Wasn't Jeff Jackson McDavid's agent before he took over the Oilers Hockey Operations?

Craig Button's final mock- would be very happy with this results. Demidov and Brandsegg-Nygard, there is Bedard's line mates for the next decade.

I would be more than happy if these were KD's two first round selections. |

Jackson definitely was.
And Oiler Coach Knoblauch was the head coach of Erie in OHL when McDavid was a 15 year old and he said at the time he was looking at a player who was soon going to be the best player in the world.
So it was no coincidence that the Oilers fired Jay Woodcroft and hired Knoblauch as Jackson came on board. |

Maybe for you but for me I'm excited about what the Blackhawks and Bears are doing. They are following the same script. Considering we won the ping pong ball draw and season ticket sales went through the roof after that I'd say many fans feel the same way. I used to live and die with each pitch when i was a kid but over time I've found baseball boring to watch, still enjoy going to the game. Enjoyed the world series win from my childhood team but at the same time the Cubs are on the door step of another serious contender of a team, why because all 3 orgs, Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks gutted their teams to rebuild. What's so cool is like the Bears this year after our 2nd pick we have another one in the 1st round to look forward to. |

I think that trade was quite impressive. He moved up 2 spots in the first round and 4 spots in the second. Sure, it cost a late 2nd round pick, but the Hawks have a ton of draft capital in the next 3 drafts (5 first round picks and 7 second round picks) and its a price the Blackhawks could afford. Its also likely not the last trade KD makes with some of those 12 picks. - DarthKane
After awhile, they will run out of their 50 contracts if they add so many guys so fast.
I absolutely think anyone who at first thought the 3 picks for two was an unprudent move (like Kyle's impetuous attempt to snag his favorite Ollie Moore, despite the fact he wasn't any other team's favorite), but I also applaud GMs who have a conviction and has a target and go get them in most cases.
It is clear on my side that #18 is more valuable NOW, on Friday and as the teams select the top 1-17, as a possible trade chip, and simple as a future Blackhawk prospect if a Rutger McGroarty deal is not happening.
(I just read they are expecting a "haul" in returns, and that I do not understand, as all the top talent evaluators are all together with the plussess & minuses...)
To me, the already signed big Finn Kakko is probably going to get a larger return.
Wouldn't it be funny if they traded all the selections they got from the Isles for younger players closer to building around?
What's the harm of taking on a second overall pick who has a lot to prove over a prospect?
And i bet, depending upon the Hawk's evaluations, they see a addition of a McGroarty as a good chip.
Not sure if the jets and the Rangers are thinking they will be gettig a gold mine in return.
Wouldn't it be nice to have another teams' former player flouriush in the Indianhead sweater in the same way othet Balckhakws did elsewhere?

Yea they are, unless they move up from 18 they ain't giving that one up either, for Kakko, or McGoarty, or Necas, that's not a realistic offer for those players. It's funny how teams trade away their 1st round picks and all of a sudden here's the draft and they are trying to get back into or move up in the 1st round. There's no way i would trade the 2nd pick just because what if Celebrini isn't the Sharks pick? I've seen crazier poop |

i could care less a about pro football nor the Bears, looks like the Cubs are going to have to rebuild their rebuild, and the jury is definitely out on the Hawks rebuild. Weren't the Sox a few years ago with the green shoot future with all the young stars they had coming in?

First are you going to guarantee him a spot on the roster? Seems he doesn't want to sign if he has to play in the minors?

Unless a massive offer comes in where Davidson cannot pass up then they keep the pick. And pick Demidov and hage at 18 |
