Yup. San Jose just jumped right in front of us. Hopefully they aren’t looking for centers too.
- hereticpride

Nah. They have Will Smith and soon to be Celebrini. If they wanted a wing, they didn’t have to move at all, and you don’t move assets to try and lock up your 3rd C on a rebuilding team.

They’re going defense. Makes too much sense.

Good point. I completely forgot they have the 1st pick in this draft

Torts will not let MM out there w/o defensive training wheels. At best that means he's on a line with a healthy Coots. I don't think there's any chance we see Frost and Michkov together.
- Tomahawk

If so, it proves that Tortorella is ignorant to the fact that Frost is solid defensively.

you are a dumb phucking individual.

I do not need to work, I am retired. I live a very comfortable life. Having more money than you isn't some great feat I would imagine. poop my 22-year-old probably has more. So again, you have zero where I said I am rich.

oh now you finally bring the race card in, lamont you fn turd. your part anglo anyway you fraud. black when it suits you

- hello it's me 2050

But this would be basically admitting that you are at minimum richer than me, right?

Wow! I’m part what? Please pride a link proving you know I’m part anything. While you’re at it, state what percentage as well. I’d love to hear this.

I’m black when it suits me? I’m sure that comment will go over a lot your heads

The thing is, Michkov is a RW and projected to be THE RW on the team. Would signing TK for long term at big money make sense for what he will become, a second line RW? I think this will be a huge sticking point between the Flyers and TKs agent. The agent will correctly say TK is a 1st line RW in this league and will expect to be paid like one. For the Flyers now that Michkov is here, that may no longer view TK as a 1st line RW and will not want to tie that money up for him. I am starting to thing that the Flyers may hold off on any extension for TK until they see how Michkov adjusts to the NHL. Or the Flyers might prefer to sign TK to a shorter deal to allow Michkov the time he needs to develop. Either way, I don't see TK's camp being happy about Michkov coming over so quickly.

That Suter contract was the last of the remaining insane long term contacts before the league axed them right?

I can only imagine what stupid deals the Flyers would’ve given out if that was still allowed.

Ballsy move if Briere can get it done. I would assume it would be for Demidov or Lindstrom. No issue targeting a prospect they feel can be elite. No need to sit and wait and hope.

If he bothered to look at the underlying numbers he'd realize that but we all know he doesn't.

Speaking of Flyers coaches and analytics, pretty much the organization's attitude in a nutshell:

Nah, that 13-year one was bought out back in 2021. He just got bought out again from the 4-year deal that Dallas signed him to.

It's funny that they had to put in term limitations because GMs gave so few (frank)s.

If they make next years 1st lotto protected and the roster player is anyone besides York I say you make that deal.

Shows what I know. I just assumed he was still with Minnesota lol.

Yeah, Fletch probably would’ve had us into Risto for a decade otherwise

Everyone has been saying this for well over a year. Nobody has cracked any codes. Our deepest spot is RW to the point that both Tippett and Forester saw long stretches on the left side this past season.

You can’t sit on your hands. Nothing is guaranteed. Make this move and they still have two firsts next year, with Demidov in tow. Cmon I value your opinion but what’s to really think about?
- Just5

I wouldn't do that. Trading 2 firsts for 1 first isn't something I would do.

Not many have seen Demidov play alot. North America didn't even have his height right until recently.

Just seems like a lot to give up for a draft pick.

They probably aren't targeting Demidov.

My guess is that they're trying to move up for Buium, Richardinson or Silayev.

I agree. Remember when they tried to get 1st overall from FLA- Ekblad draft. Briere has assets on the roster to replenish 1st rd picks lost in a potential trade.

I hope they are aggressively moving up. The Blue Jackets and Senators have been trying to sell that they’re good the past to offseasons with no regular season success to show for it. Those are the two teams to expect to make foolish moves. You may even add the Red Wings to this list but they pick 15th.

I thought Demidov….but who knows. Maybe they have 4 guys rated higher…so it wouldn’t matter if the difference is substantial in their eyes.

Ugh I was at the draft and so hoping they’d make the deal. Hextall didn’t want to move Simmonds and we ended up selecting Sanhiem. All in all idk if the Flyers would’ve been that much better off for it but with how badly we needed a top defenseman then I thought he should’ve went for it.

I kind of think it might be Lindstrom. Remember hard to get true 1Cs outside the top 5. Lindstrom has a high ceiling, but could be as catastrophic a pick as Patrick. Brass balls pick if that is the play.

I don't think they move multiple firsts for anything other than a potential 1D or 1C.

They'd have to be in love with the idea of Demi playing C to make that kind of trade for him.

You do have to be concerned about the most recent back injury as a young guy. Lindstrom was my favorite to move up for. I understand being tempted by Demidov but that’s another winger. I’m sure a great stud winger but this just leaves us with the same problem.

unless he is traded.

he has plenty of leverage. give me 8 years or trade me.

- hello it's me 2050

Any team can offer him an 8 year deal as long as he is on the Club’s Reserve List on or before the last trade deadline of his current deal. So a team could trade for TK in March, and still sign him to an 8 year contract. However, say the Flyers tried to sign Stamkos this weekend, we could only offer him a 7 year contract, but Tampa could offer him an 8 year deal.

**The Reserve List includes unsigned drafted players, and any other unsigned player a team may have the exclusive signing rights to. **

TK still has a year left, as we all know, so he is not an UFA this summer. So this would apply to next years trade deadline day, meaning any team acquiring him between now and the TDL next March can sign him to an 8 year contract.

Have to think the roster player offered is Frost or Farabee. Glad other team said no and raking Danny over the coals.

Why would these other teams want a player that was benched last game of the season with playoffs on the line?

The sharps smell blood.
