Flyers have apparently met with Eiserman multiple times and are impressed with him.

Also, there was this last year so everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

"We're still looking to acquire assets that are going to help us in the future. We know where we're at as a team," he said. "We still have lots of work, and the future is still what we're targeting...That was the plan. We acquired assets to help us for the future.“

This is the type of stuff I’m excited to hear from Danny. Now let’s see it in action.

I had mentioned Wright a few months ago. I doubt he is available though.

That's who I be looking at, especially since they fired there coach for missing playoffs ( or if you believe the rumors players said they leave if he still the coach then obviously they not in win now mode) so since they fired for not making the playoffs then that tells me the gm and ownership wants to win now/make playoffs

So might be a deal there to make

We lost Gauthier. We gain Michkov. If Briere is being aggressive, I’m all for it.
- roenick97

Didn't gain anything....he was already ours.

We did lose Gauthier though.

Did I miss when Michkov played for the Flyers last season? From my understanding he wasn’t suppose to play for two full seasons.

Yeah, I think most people had him pegged in that range. Sounds right. 8.5 is the guess I hear the most, and that seems fitting.

I’m sure he’ll ask for 10 knowing it’s too high, and he’d be cool with 9 for a few less years, but an 8x8.5 would be tough for him to turn down for security.

TK is similar to Meier in age and stats.

If Meier was signing today, his cap percentage would equal close to $9.4 per.

I don't see him taking less than $9.5 per, and he isn't worth it.

Gauthier never played for the Flyers, so using your logic here, how did we lose him?

Glad it’s draft day so I don’t have to think about it. This election is like Sophie’s Choice in reverse.

I wouldn't do that. Trading 2 firsts for 1 first isn't something I would do.

Not many have seen Demidov play alot. North America didn't even have his height right until recently.

Just seems like a lot to give up for a draft pick.

- TheFreak

I would do that for Listrom maybe iginla if they think hes a center, or a #1 D potential, i wouldnt do it for a winger

Elliott Friedman on Philly/ Columbus trade talk..

Friedman on PHI/CBJ/#4 via 32 Thoughts:

"Columbus wanted something big. The #12, the 32nd pick, and Colorado's 1st next year, and what I heard was that was too much for Philly. BUT, the two teams were expected to speak again, today, (Friday)."

So..3 firsts? No way in hell do I do that for an unproven prospect.

I agree with the last statement for sure. I love TK and the Meier comparison is a good one. To me the MAJOR difference is where the teams are. NJ has all the pieces in place…a signing of Meier makes sense, he’s an added piece. The Devils have two legit top 2 centres. The Devils have a legit #1 d man and have drafted two other young studs on the backend that have now arrived in Hughes and Nemac. I just can’t get my head around a team that’s trying to rebuild and add assets for a rebuild signing TK.

He could have played for us but we were forced to trade him. Michkov is a pleasant surprise.

It's so dumb that they're pumping additional draft capital into moving up during a rebuild instead of just earning the higher pick outright.

(But it's also the most Flyers thing ever)

- Tomahawk

agreed, a tank should have been done. Torts understandably wont do it, so danny needed to make some moves last year. Sitting Coots when injured, trading TK last year.

here is my take, if they obviously like someone at that spot and feel he is their guy then not much of a problem going for said player.

Now they better hope that is fn home run.

Now if they gave up all those picks the smart thing to do is then try to recoup as many as you can by moving tk, laughton, and the like. This is where they will fail and screw up imo.

Agreed 100%. It just makes too much sense to trade him and save the cap.
