Yes. Reports say it’s leaning Levshunov but could definitely be Demidov too. He’s going anywhere top 5. Most people believe ANA is going D at 3. Also, no way MTL trades #5 if Demidov is available to them. Which leaves trading to #4 as the only way to potentially get him. Though, as I’ve stated previously, Inwould not move up for him.

You could always pick up the phone if your favorites are all gone and you get offered a great deal to slide around 15.

If that’s the case, I probably pick up the phone again and consider doing it a second time to hear out 17-19 and come away with a bigger stash considering one of our top 16 needs (center and defense) will almost undoubtedly still be there since wingers will take up draft spots.

Plus, someone is going off board. It always happens.

A couple of the recent mocks I’ve seen have us taking the defenseman from the U of Denver who put up 50 points last season. Don’t know anything about him but it seems he’s a late riser on the draft boards.

They probably traded up for Yakemchuk or whichever of the top 6 defensemen are left as they have nothing in the defense pipeline. Would be good for the Flyers.

If the top 6 defensemen all go in the top 11, it would likely only take Sennecke to be a top 10 pick for Catton to fall to the Flyers at 12.

But there are so many more than 11.

Doesn’t bother me. They’re taking Celebrini at 1 and they have Will Smith already.

They won’t step on our shoes at 11 if a center we want like Catton is there. It could be a small bump in the road for defensemen I guess.

I really don’t think Catton falls to 12, but I wouldn’t think twice at the podium if he did.

And yeah, the Sharks did this for defense. If it was for wing, they’d have happily stayed at 14 or even traded down, stocked assets, and snapped up a decent one lower in the 1st.
