AS fast as Connor Bedard.
- wiz1901

Pretty sure you mean McDavid …. Bedard is more quick than fast. One thing about Micheyev is he’s fast but he can’t play at that speed like McDavid or McKinnon.

I think the Washington also hired the guys who created it. Of course some other enterprising guys could create a new site …

Ouch, now I AM WORRIED, while I am screen shooting every teams picks, future drafts etc. before I cannot.

Or he would have been a Canuck cog, not a discard.

He's got solid defensive metrics, is fast and has put up good numbers in the past. This is 100% "let's see what he can do on our team". Maybe he flourishes with top line minutes and some different partners (and some extra time to heal his knee).

And there’s the trap most GMs get caught in. Mikheyev was signed to one of those “reward him” deals, look at the mess that caused Vancouver. Lots of players are handed those reward him deals and then GMs get stuck with them or pay dearly to move them. What exactly is Lafferty being rewarded for? His reward is to receive salary and term commensurate with his value and ability. Whatever Lafferty’s value to the team is, factoring KD’s ability to move him if need be, is what he should be paid. If he walks, he walks, it’s better for the team than overpaying him. KD has already given larger salaries to entice free agents, I get why but now in this phase of the rebuild he has to be more economically prudent. All that said I hope he can sign Lafferty, I like his game and what he brings to the team.
- paulr

An extra 1/2 to 1M for Lafferty, even if for three years isn't going to effect the cap situation during that time. And I know we are accustomed to KD moving almost everyone that isn't tied down, but maybe Lafferty stays for the whole contract.

That's interesting info about Ilya. Maybe he will look good with our kiddies on the top 6,🤞

- BetweenTheDots

It's a low risk high reward kinda move.

Even if he plays like he did the back half of this past year, its still a defensively reliable veteran forward that is going to be a much better option hockey wise than an Entwhistle, Johnson or Johnson.

I Hope one of the signings, whether the 13th forward, or seventh defenseman is someone that has some pushback (at least Tinordi provided that, Foligno tried, but ended up breaking his thumbs, and he will turn 37 at the start of the season, how much heart does he have to fulfill that role).

As long as there are the Rempe's, Trouba's, Gudas, Tom Wilson of the world on the ice, hoepfully your team is tough and has push back iwth the way they play (like the last 2 cup champions Panthers and Knights), but I don't see much push back, let alone very many board battles won with the current roster.

- LAHawk

I know I would have a heart attack if I saw the Blackhawks cycle the puck in the offensive zone.

And KD will go out and draft a Eurosmurf after drafting a canucksmurf last season. WE NEED RED ASS!

Demidov will end up bigger than Sharp.

Yup, I bet AA can beat both of them,

Another potential UFA is off the board.

The Canucks re-sign forward Dakota Joshua for 4 years with a $3.25 million AAV.

I've been trying to wean myself off capfriendly since it's likely gone in a couple of weeks and have been using these other sites. They have useful cap related information, but, IMO, leave some things to be desired. Maybe it just takes time to learn how to navigate through the menu. Hopefully their programmers will make some improvements too.

Another free agent off the board. Sens re-up former Hawk legend Matthew Highmore.

Vinnie Hinostroza is still available if we hurry.

Have you found anywhere that has the reserve lists and rights expiration? Puckpedia has the list but not the date the signing rights expire.

Apparently San Jose was the other team interested in Mikheyev, but he preferred Chicago (obviously).

$1.8 (ish) million would be great. Assuming the Hawks eventually trade him he would become an even better target at 50% retained.

I’m not sure if the term. 2 year makes sense but I could see KD going with 3 years.

- DarthKane

I think his contract will be closer to AA's.

It's all Kyle's fault for making that trade last night and giving the Canucks that additional cap space.

He would have been a nice add for the Hawks, but with Foligno, Lafferty, D!ckinson, Donato, AA, Slaggert, and whatever RFA(s) they keep, they should be all set for bottom six, now they need one top six and a RD. They will be more competitive this year, but no playoffs yet.

for a large wide body, Levshunov skating stride backward is really, really good and effortless.
For some reason I started flashing he was Doug Jarrett as I watched him back pedal.

I am gonna be happy with whichever of the three candidates they pick...

I don't think I am changing anything here:

The Tribune has Levshunov rated #12 and 6th for defenseman.

Wonder if they might have a couple of deals more or less in place when on the clock at #18. If one of their guys is there, they make the pick, otherwise, if they are all gone, use it in a trade.
- totem

They can't move up from 18 doing that?
