The only thing Kyle has said is that they know who they are picking. Ben Pope and CHGO have some tweets with his comments etc.. - captainserious
So because they know who they are picking and last year's selections have no impact on this year, it's definitely Levshunov? |

So who past Davidson would have the most influence, and which ones would advocate for one over the other? Soupy for Lev? Others? - RaleighHawk
Head of scouting should have the greatest influence. Brian Campbell is a nice guy and was a great player, but has done a couple years of part time player development and even less scouting. Let the actual scouts make their bones. Only thing worse than a ‘I played so I know’ guy superseding your scouts is a meddling owner doing it (see:Flyers, Nolan Patrick over Cale Makar) |

Flyers still kicking themselves for that one. Let's hope the hawks don't make the same mistake

Wasn't it Tallon who wanted Toews, not the scouts? Somebody stood up on a table for Keith as well but I don't remember whom? Scouts don't build a team they assess players. |

While #CauseChaos forward Martin Necas could very well wind up with the #NJDevils , I can continue to hear that the #GoHabsGo are still very much in on Necas.

Wonder what the Habs would offer for Nečas - captainserious
Maybe dman prospects? |

Per Mark Lazerus:
Kyle Davidson left the door open for more forward signings and trades, but seemed to be trying to temper expectations heading into free agency. Sounds like he's comfortable with a healthy Taylor Hall and Andreas Athanasiou being the big upgrades. |

I don’t remember. Maybe someone remembers that time. Fun to think we’re in another foundational period right now. |

Yup that's why KFC better upgrade this roster like he said at his EOY presser. Bedard needs talent around him. |

Cam Robinson has a short video oit on twitter saying the draft basically starts at #3 because Macklin is going 1 and from everything he hears Levshunov is going #2.
On another note
Lazerus just tweeted this:

Might as well call them the Chicago Sabres. Let's draft our way out of this crap hole, that'll work.
The salary cap is ruthless If I hear one more thing about the stupid salary cap,and they don't want to commit etc.. I'm gonna puke - captainserious
Anyone have that .jpg of the building ledge to jump off of ???

I see Eiserman dropped to 14 on your list, he seems to be anywhere from 11 - 18 on other lists. At one point he was the consensus number 2. What the hell happened to his stock? - paulr
We'll see indeed how far Eiserman slips but this might end up the most important question of this draft 10 yrs from now. ... Gun to my head the answer is mostly people are over thinking Eiserman.
It's always watched which prospects take a step and which don't and that's fair but often flawed as development is not linear.... Eiserman was being watched to see if his defense, IQ, skating, creating, and on and on, improved and apparently parts of his game didn't, or was insufficient, for many evaluators at least from guys who don't draw an NHL paycheck. We'll know for sure how NHL types see Eiserman thru the draft.
But, what didn't change was his record setting goals scored. Kid just kept on filling the net. In 119 games with the NTDP he scored 127 goals. In 14 games with two U-18 WJC squads, one yr an underager, he scored 18 goals!! And he does/did this as a late August birthday meaning he's about 15-16 days from being in the next draft class and therefore makes him the youngest player in his age group every single yr.
IMO this is classic overthinking. Yes, he could have improved in some areas and yes kids like Iginala and Sennecke climbed the lists but this is a player who skates fine, has at least average size and simply scores record amounts of goals every yr against older players, a huge sample size.
I stand by my original thought, Eiserman will challenge 50 goals in many yrs and score 40 in a handful of yrs in the NHL......... At least non-NHL people have chopped up and dissected Eiserman and have overthought the kid's game to the point some have him down in the late teens.

Is Nazar definitely penciled in to start the season with the Hawks? or is he going to get some time in the A first? - LAHawk
Is there anyone better than him right now? Even if they add 2 more forwards? |

I often wonder if there has ever been hockey players who learned to skate better as they got older, and were they a better skater at 22 then they were at 17?

Hahaha, i personally think KD likes to be tight lipped about his plans and as a gm that's a great thing. I think they are going to bring in at least one guy who can play top 6 minutes but my guess is 2 since your joke points out how fragile those 2 are.
If i were KD i would bring in 2 RDman because of Murphys durability issues as well. |

I feel it is a no brainer insofar as whether a team has a strong possibility to have the wherewithal to add a second top 20 first round pick. Your difference makers and usually your top players derive from draft choices and most are first round material
Drafting near the tenth slot you draft an Eiserman or a dman who has slipped. Maybe you loose out in some forwards you really like. You want to bet The SJ Sharks GM has a couple players he really prefers to play with Celebrini. Subtle move - or not - moving up a couple spots. So he paid for it by surrendering a second round choice. So what; a second round choice in this draft is not really worth of second round status or value, according to Wiz. It is gambling on a product you have some reservation about. Yet to move up and get pretty much a stud with a greater likelihood to take the player you want to help shape your roster around Celebrini - you don’t hesitate to complete that transaction
I bet a hungry previously successful Eiserman can be corralled and broken enough to overcome or minimize his weaknesses. He can win games for you with his shot. The sooner he willingly does well enough what the coaching staff preaches, the sooner you have scored with a second first round selection
Who knows too if some other player you and or staff likes, can perform sooner rather than later. Invest well not only in draft choices and scouting but it coaching and development as well |

This is really a choice of the triumvirate. KD, MacIver and Doneghey. They seem to have good chemistry and are on the same page. I don't see KD making a choice without the backing of the other two, not to say he doesn't have his own choices.
