While I agree that bottom 6 needs to contribute offensively if you're going to win a cup, I disagree that top 6 just gets a pass because each team's cancel the other's out. Our top 6 has to get better if we're gonna win it all. Zib and panarin ain't it.

Im not giving them a pass, they do need to produce, however in a playoff scenario its difficult to do it day in and day out. Thats why its so important to have your depth guys to step up and try to make a play, to try to reenergize the guys. Barkov didnt really kill us scoring, neither did Tkachuk but they made is wildly difficult on us. Ultimately it was Florida's depth guys, Rodriguez... Bennett... Luostarinen... Lundell, that ended up putting us on our arse.

Btw to address this last line. Thats where maybe Stamkos can jump in. Stamkos can instantly slot in as the 1C, taking the pressure off Zib. Maybe the light shines a bit too bright on him.

I dont know whos better... Nils or Jones... Nils metrics are actually kinda decent.

Assuming we trade Trouba, we would have a 3RD spot available. However we cant roll a 3rd pairing of Jones and Nils. It feels like theres a lot more LD available than RD as far as what were looking for.

Nils wanted the rangers to trade him. There is zero chance he would sign back as a free agent lol

Well I think that was because he was never going to get playing time since he was 4th on the depth chart. However, that bridge might have been burned in the process. Oh well.

I thought Gorton traded for Trouba. Drury had to play the hand he was dealt.

Wasn't Perreault with our pick? Or you saying since we got DAL 1st round pick and traded it, it allowed us to hold onto our own and trade it away?

well the condition on the trade was our pick of Dallas’s, whichever was lower. It ended up being Dallas’s that we traded but I count that as a continuation of nils, like you said

I know that. My response to Levine was in response to his post about how Drury should have known the way Trouba was used in Winnipeg, hence my “ Gorton traded “and signed him to that albatross of a contract. Gorton should have known the way he was used.

Idk can’t we like specific players for our team without some guys with “nyr” in their handles giving us poop about it? Thought this was America
