Kakko and the rights to Lindgren for Vatrano and Gudas?
- aecliptic

I can definitely see Gudas as a great target for the Rangers if they were to unload Trouba.

If they make that happen Gudas couldn’t be more perfect on 3rd pair right side after Fox and Schneider

But if Trouba is still here. Hard to see how Gudas fits

They may want to roll Othmann as that 3rd line wing for next year and use Kakkos cap space else where
- nyrangers2

If that's the case then I could get on board with that. He's only played 3 NHL games so to me its a bit of a risk relying on him to be a solid 3rd liner on a cup contending team but if the organization believes he's ready and make that move I could live with it. I just don't want them to trade kakko and then sign some FA for $2.5M for 3 years who sucks

If you roll Othmann on the 3rd line, you halt any progress that Cuylle has made. I think Cuylle can develop into a Lawson Crouse type of player, it would be a mistake to take minutes away from him.

I wouldn't say I'm high on Kakko but I think he's a good 3rd line player that only costs $2.4M. He had 40 points two years ago and still plays well defensively and has strong underlying stats.

The rangers also have their top 3 centers right now in Zib, Trocheck and Chytil. I don't think Veleno is better than any of them. We need RW which Kakko is

- SkjeiStadium

Figured you would want a versatile player that can take over 3C when Chytil is hurt again.

I think in this hypothetical with Kakko gone you would have a 3rd line of Cuylle - Chytil - Othmann

Id be curious to see if Cuylle can play RW putting him in a shooters position. He can snipe.

I can just see the “smaller” NCAA D man slipping when some of the other guys are 6’3”+

Which would be a massive mistake

He's not good and should not be a piece you want if the goal is to win. For me, oh it's a yes.

Definitely agree with this. Trade Trouba & Kakko, then make another move to acquire Gudas. Sign a top 6 winger with the freed up money

Kreider-Zib- X
Bread-Tro-Laf
Cuylle-Chytil-Othamnn
Combo of Vesey Brodzinski Rempe Edstrom

Fox Lindgren
Schneider Miller
Gudas Jones
Vet 7th D

I think this is pretty realistic. Unless Drury has some moves that none of us are thinking of

With chytil, call it the OC squared line

Is he that bad or was the trade for him originally just awful for what he brings
- nyrangers2

Feels like he had a bad year and also Brisebois massively whiffed on that deal.

But on a pretty cheap deal, if he could be had for like a 7th round pick or future considerations, he could be worth it as a reclamation project. Worst case, his deal expires and you either let him walk or resign him for much less than he was making as a fourth line bruiser that can chip in the occasional points.

The odds of Chytil being able to handle the load of 3rd line center for any appreciative amount of time is short sighted. Sadly, he’s one hit away from oblivion.

I believe he got a clean bill of health. I think it’s safe we stop worrying about this.

I'm not sure you can get a totally clean bill of health with brain injuries. I'm rooting for the kid, health-wise anyway, but I would have pretty big concerns if he were to take another big hit up high.

It was rumored that he saw leading neurologist at the university of Michigan when he was rehabbing. Not sure you can ever get 100% certainty with brain injuries, but I'd say going to level of professional is probably the best you can do.

I think he’s the same risk as anyone else tho. You cant build a team fearing guys getting hurt. If he gets hurt that’s what LTIR is for. Would I go for a center and move him to RW. Yea I would lol just as the insurance policy

Yeah I'm not saying the Rangers are being reckless or anything by playing him, just that it's a big time crapshoot and another blow to the head could be disastrous.

Regardless of health he may not be the right fit for 3c. And he definitely isn’t playing a full season next year.

Give me Matt Roy to replace trouba please
